Y/N's POV

Mr. Nighteye stood mere feet away from me as he spoked passionately and gratefully about me saving his life.

From afar, he seemed like a very cold man although now that I'm really talking to him, he appears almost, laidback.

He even threw unexpected jokes my way that earned a surprised laugh from me.

"Again, thank you so much Ms. L/N. You really did safe my life, according to recovery lady I was to far gone for her to do anything with her quirk, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't be here right now." He said seriously with a hint of warmness.

I smiled a little to myself before looking down at the ground. "It was the least I could do, after all it was thanks to your operation that Eri and I managed to get back to safety."

"That reminds me, how is she doing? Mentally wise, I mean." He asked curiously.

"I like to think that she's doing better, but it's going to be a long journey to recovery." I look back at Eri's door to point it to Nighteye, when my eyes caught the slouched figure against the frame.

His eyes bore into my, but they weren't warm and comforting like they'd grown to be, no. Instead they looked almost reprimanding.

Shota. And that very evident frown of his.

My movements halted.

Why does he make my heart beat? and, why is he so set in confusing me? First he offers me comfort, then the next second he's getting distant, and when I do the same he get's this disappointing and scolding look on his face.

I turn back to Nighteye, as if my whole world hadn't just shaken to its core. "You should talk to her you know... Eri was concerned about you. I managed to ease some of the worries, but it'll be better if she sees you." I spoke in a soft voice as if to hold my feeling contained inside me.

I shut my eyes forcefully.

Focus Y/N, Focus.

"Oh, definitely I'll go and-"

"Excuse me Nighteye." A low, almost growling, voice interrupted the man.

My breath hitched as I turned and met his face, Aizawa. "Me and Y/N have important things to talk about, if you could give us a minute." he didn't look apologetic in the least.

Nighteye looked down at me, then at Aizawa, a slight frown making its way into his features. "Of course. If you'll excuse me." he sounded more closed off than before.

He turned from us, not before giving me one last bow, which I awkwardly returned.

His steps grew quieter until they were finally inaudible.

I looked towards the door, than back at the man towering in front of me, unlike the previous hero, Shota didn't bother to keep cordial space between us. I sucked in a breath "...What's so important?" I ask avoidantly, last time still fresh in my memory.

My eyes went anywhere, but near his.

Him on the other hand made it his personal challenge to carve my face with his stare. "Nezu would like you to come back in two days." he said quietly, almost as if that menacing version of him a few seconds ago was but an illusion.

Still, the message resonated within me. My head jerked up, almost breaking my neck. "Already?! I'm still taking care of Eri!"

"She'll be taken care of by the other hospital staff while your away." He said.

I gulped.

Another way for saying she'll be emotionally neglected until they put her in the system, where she might not even find a home because of her quirk.
