I went to The Director's office and went instantly to the shrine. I remember seeing something that might have been able to move Amber's body.
Behind the shrine was a flat wooden board...all I needed was a way to glide it along the floor. I looked around the room, but the only thing around was the office chair and the cushions on the couch. And then I noticed the rug.
If we could somehow roll her over onto the floor length rug, we could drag her out; but there was still the problem with getting her outside.
And then I thought of something else...if we could get o the roof we could drop the body in the !middle of the horde and then we could escape. But I wasn't sure the others would be up for dragging the dead weight up the stairs.
Maybe there was another way to do it that wouldn't be so strenuous. And then I remembered what I saw in the room. The pulley system attached to the ceiling and chains...that's what we needed. But how were we going to get it?
I then headed back to the others to let the in on my plan.
"Sarge, I thought you were going to get something to help us?" Johnny questioned as soon as he saw me. "Where is it?"
"Change of plans...we need to get into that locked room and kill whatever is in there." I said as I headed over to my bag. "I know we should save these, but this might be the only way." I said as I pulled out a grenade. "We need something that will make it eat this."
"We could cut off a piece of the body and wrap it around it." Johnny suggested softly.
"Really...it's bad enough we have to use her as Crawler bait...now you want to mutilate her corpse." Melissa protested sickly.
"We have no other choice if we want to get out of here alive." I defended our decision. "Now who wants to do the honors?"
"You have got to be kidding me." Melissa said disgusted. "I'm not getting her blood on my hands."
"If I do it then I'll throw up." Johnny said as he covered his mouth with his hand.
"Well I can't do it, I'm the one killing the gator." I defended. "Plus I have the littles."
"Fine, I'll do it...get me a knife and some twine." Steven sighed.
"Why do you need string?" Johnny asked before he handed the other man a large hunting knife.
Meanwhile I headed back to the kitchen to search for the twine.
"You wanted to wrap it around the grenade, right...well I have a better idea." The man answered as he knelt down beside Amber's bloated body.
It already smelt like she was starting to rot and her skin was blistering as if it was burnt by something.
Steven removed her cardigan from one of her arms and began to slice at the mountain of flesh. Her blood was thick and nearly black, her muscles were so red it rresembled a fresh filet of tuna...it had began to rot...weeks a go it appeared.
How could we not have noticed?
I found an old butter cookie tin and found a needle and thread...it wasn't twine, but it would have to do.
I ran back over just as Steve was removing the skin and fat from the...meat?
"Um...this was all I could find." I said as I handed the needle and thread to the now blood covered man.
"This will do." He said before he grabbed the grenade from John and placed it in the middle of the flesh and began to sew it shut. "This way we can make sure that she gets the explosive into her mouth."
