Chapter 9
Jacob's POV
It's two days after my friends and I talked about the bet and the rules of it. I kind of don't want to do it but at the same time I do. She used to be my best friend but that was a long time ago, so why should it really matter what happens to her? It's just a fun prank and all if my friends want me to do it. If I don't they'll think that I have feelings for her which I definitely don't. I'm with Karman and she's a bit crazy which I totally love about her.
Ding, dong.
I hear the door it must be Karman. I kind of hope Livvy doesn't see her walking in, because that could majorly mess up the plan, considering she thinks that Karman and I broke up.
"Jacob, Karman's here!" I hear my mom yell.
"I'll be down in a sec!" I yell back.
I place my phone onto my night table and descends down the stairs.
"Hey there sexy." Karman whispers into my ear.
"Hey." I say and give her a kiss.
"So what do you want to do today?" She asks as we walk up the stairs.
"I don't know maybe watch a movie?" I say and we both know that that isn't really what would happen.
"That sounds like a great plan." Karman says and giggles.
We go up to my room and turn some movie on Netflix.
"I've missed you baby." Karman says and we start making out as the movie plays.
About 10 minutes later I get a message."One second babe." I say and Karman stops straddling me.
I check my phone and see that Livvy sent me a message. I don't know why but I can't help but smile.
"What are you smiling about?" Karman asks me.
"Nothing." I lie. "Livvy just asked me to hang out but if you don't want me to it's all good. I mean I don't have to."
"No it's okay, I mean we want this plan to work don't we?" She asks and I nod.
"You're right." I say. "So I should go hang with her?" I ask and Karman nods with a slight frown.
"Ya, you should." I can tell she's upset.
"I don't have to go if it bothers you." I tell her and she shrugs.
"I doesn't bother me I mean you're just hanging out with her for this bet to work." She says and I can't help but feeling a little guilty.
"Okay well I'll see you later then." I say and give her a peck on the lips. "You can let yourself out right?" I ask and she nods.
I grab my phone and walk outside and over to Livvy's house. I get to the door and hesitate a little when I'm about to knock, but then I do. I really hope that Livvy answers the door, but I'm not that lucky.
"Jacob?" Ella says in shock.
"Hey Ella. Is Livvy home?" I ask.
"Um, ya she's up in her room. What are you doing here?" She asks back.
"Livvy asked if I would hang out with her so I said sure." All she does is nod.
"Okay well, you know where her room is. You can go up there yourself." She tells me and I go upstairs.
I walk into Livvy's room and see that it's completely different than what I remember. I was here recently but didn't really take the time to see how different it really is. Where her pink princess bed used to be is now a regularly wooden bed with purple polka dotted blanket. Her walls which used to be littered with princesses and anything pink are now a dark purple with a few pictures here and there. I see pictures of her with her family as well as a few pictures of her with her friends. I look down at the nightstand beside her bed and see the picture of her and I from when we were children. I look at her and around her neck is still the same heart necklace I gave her for her fifth birthday. Why would she wear that after all of these years? I thought she had hated me all this time but maybe she doesn't actually, maybe she's been waiting for me to want to be friends with her again. I go back to examining her room. The once carpeted floor is now dark brown hardwood. There is and small purple rug in front of her dresser but that's it.
"I didn't think you were actually going to come over." Livvy says, scaring me as she walks out of her closet.
"We if we're going to try and fix this friendship we've gotta start hanging out again." I say and she laughs.
