Chapter 5

Alexandra's POV

I hear Livvy and Jacob talking in the doorway but don't want her to know that I know. They soon finish and she shuts the door. I take this time to walk downstairs to make it look as if I don't know.

"Who was that?" I question when I see Livvy still at the door.

"Just Jacob. He was dropping off some misplaced mail again." She lies to me.

"Then where is the mail?" I ask and we both look at her empty hands.

"I already put it down."

"So you're just standing at the doorway?"

"Yep."

"Just for fun?"

"Before I go back to the kitchen to get the pop tarts." She says and walks into the kitchen.

I follow her, confused as to why she won't tell me what really happened. I sit at the counter and she hands me a plate with two pop tarts. Just then her phone goes off indicating she got a text and she smiles a little.

"Who was that?" I ask and she doesn't look up.

"Just my mom."

"But your mom is right upstairs."

"Ya I know. I don't know why she didn't just come down." She says as her parents walk into the kitchen.

I give Livvy a look but she just shrugs it off.

"Good morning girls." Austin says going over to the coffee maker.

"Good morning Ella and Austin." I reply.

"Ooh what are you girls making?" He dad asks and Livvy smacks his hand away from her pop tarts.

"These are mine. If you want some make your own." She says sticking out her tongue.

"Alright missy I'll just do that." He says walking to the toaster.

"You're such an idiot Austin." Ella says standing in the doorway.

Livvy's parents get their food and coffee then go sit in the living room leaving Livvy and I to eat in the kitchen.

"So what do you want to do today?" She asks me.

"I don't know, Netflix maybe." I offer.

"We always watch Netflix. Let's go out and do something."

"Where do you want to go?"

"I don't know. How about we go to the pool?"

"That sounds like fun; and we could call the other girls to cone with us."

"You text Mads and Kris and I'll text Talia and Angel. Tell them to meet us at 11:30." She says and I get my phone out.

Mads and Kris both text me back almost immediately saying that they'll be able to go. Livvy and I then tidy up and go upstairs to get ready. I don't have a bathing suit here but Livvy and I are the same size so she has one I can wear. It's a blue bikini with white polka dots and the one Livvy wears is hot pink.

We then tell her parents that we are going out and we take the car to go to the pool. We arrive and see that it is fairly busy since it is February and everyone wants to get out and do something. Livvy finds Mads' car and sees that there is a free space beside it and parks. We walked inside and find the rest of the girls waiting for us in the front lobby. We all sign in then go get changed into our bathing suits. We put our hair up and grab our towels and head to the pool area.

As soon as we get into the pool area I see him. It's Jacob and he's here with his friends. Karman is hanging onto him like a leach, but it looks as if she's slightly flirting with his best friend Isaac. I shake it off and turn to Livvy hoping she doesn't see them.

"How about we go over to that pool." I suggest and we all walk away from where Jacob and his friends are.

"I saw them you know." Livvy whispers to me. "I'm not blind."

"I'm sorry sweetie. I was really hoping that you didn't notice them."

"Can I make a confession?" She asks and I nod. "This morning he wasn't at the house giving me misplaced mail."

"I know I heard. I was just pretending I didn't so you wouldn't get mad at me for eavesdropping."

"You wouldn't be my Alex if you didn't eavesdrop on my conversation." She tells me and we both laugh a little.

"Well I don't support you hanging out with him, but I'll be here to kick his ass if he ever breaks your heart again." I promise her.

"There's the Alex I know and love."

"Cone on guys! The waters nice!" Angel says to us and we hop in.

We have fun in the pool with our friends and I think Livvy actually forgets that Jacob is in the pool just a little bit away from us. We play a few games and since Kris does like every sport, she shows us a bazillion different flips and jumps from off of the diving bored.

We finish swimming and all go to get washed off in the change room. I'm the first one done and when I leave I literally run into Jacob. He gives me an asshole look but keeps going. I wait in the car for Livvy and she soon comes out and we head out for dinner with the rest of our friends.

Today was fun but I don't think I'll ever be able to trust Jacob.
