Chapter 14

Livvy's POV

"I'm so happy you were willing to keep Livvy company while Austin and I go out tonight." My mom tells Jacob.

"I would've been fine on my own mom." I say to my mom.

"I know I just don't like leaving you alone."

"I'm almost 18 mom."

"I know but still."

"Ella let's go we're leaving!" Dad calls from the front hallway.

"Okay so there is pizza on its way, money's right here, and just call me or your dad if you need anything." Mom tells us gathering up her stuff.

"Okay have a good time mom. I love you." I yell her.

"I love you too." She says running out the door slipping on her shoes.

"So what do you want to do?" I ask Jacob who is sitting on the other side of the island in my kitchen.

"I don't know. You're the one who invited me over here."

"Well I have some math and chem homework to do, so I might to do that." I tell him and reach for my school bag. "I can turn on a movie or something if you want."

"Or you can help me with the chem work." He says and grabs his bag.

I look at the sheet in his binder and realize that it is the work from last week.

"You haven't done last week's work yet?" I ask and he smirks.

"I don't get it." He says and I know that he's lying.

"This stuff is simple compared to what we're doing now and I know for a fact that you get it."

"Oh ya and how do you know that?" He asks me and I flip to today's work from class.

"Because right here," I point to a difficult question. "is the right answer. Besides we're both getting a 93 in that class."

"Fine you caught me. I just didn't want to do it because it was too easy."

"Ya I totally believe that." I say and roll my eyes.

"Did you just roll your eyes at me?" He asks me.

"Nope." I say and stuck out my tongue.

"You're going to get it Livvy." He days and stands up. "You better run!" He calls after me.

I run into the dining room, living room, front hallway and then back into the kitchen completing the circle of my main floor. Jacob and I run that circle until he turns around and waits in the living room without me knowing. He catches me and pins me to the ground.

"What are you going to do to me?" I ask out of breath.

Just then I feel his hands going to my sides and he starts tickling me.

"Jacob - Jacob - stop - pl - please - stop." I say in between laughs.

Ding dong!

Just then the doorbell rings and Jacob gets off of me.

"Pizza must be here." He says and lends me his hand to help me get up.

"I'll go grab the money, you get the door." I tell him and walk to the kitchen.
I grab the money and head to the front door. I pay the guy Jacob grabs the pizza from the guy and then we go to the kitchen. I grab two plates and see that Jacob is already devouring a piece of pizza.

"You couldn't have at least waited until I got us plates?" I ask and he just sits there with the pizza halfway in his mouth.

After dinner Jacob's offers to clean up but I don't let him. We then go into the living room and do our homework while the TV plays Finding Nemo.

"Alex and I saw Karman and Issac kissing the other day." I tell Jacob and I see him stiffen a little.

"Really?" He asks and I nod.

"Does that bother you?"

"No - no of course not. I mean Karman and I broke up after all." He says and I know that's he's lying again.

"But it's your best friend and your ex."

"How about we just drop it, okay Livvy?"

"Okay." I say and go back to my homework.

When I finish I look at my phone and see that it's already 9:30.

"Wow that took us a while." I tell him and he gives me a funny look.

"What took a while?"

"Our homework. It's already 9:30."

"I never do my homework so ya that did take a while." He says and we laugh.

"You can go home now if you want. We do have school in the morning after all." I tell him as I get up.

"You're kicking me out?" He fakes being hurt.

"No I said if you want." I say and stick out my tongue.

"Well I'm going to stay here until your parents get home."

"You don't have to."

"But I want to."

"I was going to just go to bed."

"Then we'll then something on the TV in your room and I'll sit there while you to go sleep."

"Are you sure you want to do that?"

"Yes I'm sure."

"Okay just give me a couple minutes then. I have to get ready for bed." I say and walk upstairs.

I quickly get changed and do everything that I have to do to get ready for bed at night. I quickly tidy up the mess of clothes that lay on my floor and throw them into my laundry basket. I then walk back downstairs to get Jacob.

"I'm ready for bed." I tell him and he turns around.

"Okay I'll be up in a minute." He says and I go back upstairs.

I turn on my TV and turn on Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I lay in bed and instantly feel myself drifting off. I soon feel my bed dip down as Jacob gets in. I feel him pull me close and he puts his arms around me and I do the same. I quickly fall asleep, happy and content with my life.
