Chapter 34
Livvy's POVI hear my phone ring. I look at the screen to see that it's Alex which is super weird because she never calls me.
"Hey, what's up?" I ask her.
"Can I possibly come over?" She asks.
"Of course you can. Since when have we started asking if we can go over to each others houses?"
"Beau is with me, is that okay?" She asks, avoiding my question.
"Ya that's fine." I tell her.
"Okay we'll be over in five." She says and hangs up.
Alex never calls me to ask if she can come over so it's super weird and kind of freaks me out. Maybe she was just calling because Beau is with her and he's never been to my house or hung out just the three of us before. But what if it's something bigger? I think of the situation Jacob and Karman are in. No one knows except for the three of us, unless they've told other people, but I doubt they will. What if her and Beau had sex and she didn't tell me and now she's pregnant? What if it's something else? I mean Beau is coming with her so it has to involve the two of them. What if they made the decision to get married at this young age? I mean Alex has always been super spontaneous and never really thought about decisions before making them but this would just be insane. My trail of thought is broken as I hear a knock on the door. I walk downstairs and let Beau and Alex in and they immediately go to the living room.
"So what's going on?" I ask Alex.
"There is something that you should probably hear that you aren't going to like." She replies.
"Okay Alex I love you and all but you're really scaring me."
"Livvy, Beau has something he needs to tell you."
"So what is it?" I ask and turn to Beau.
"Well don't you think it is a little bit weird that Jacob started talking to you again out of no where?" He asks and I just nod, not knowing what's coming next.
"Livvy, please know that he had nothing to do with this." Alex tells me.
"Then what is it?" I ask them again.
"Okay well back in February you might remember that day where my friend group was cheering really loudly. You might remember it because it was the day before he told you that he wanted to start hanging out again." He tells me.
"Okay what about it?" I ask not totally wanting to know.
"Well Isaac and Karman came up with an idea, well more like a bet." He says.
"What kind of bet?" I ask knowing that whatever is to come will probably hurt me.
"Well they wanted him to try and make you fall for him before the end of the school year."
"That can't be true."
"But it is." He says and I feel a single tear run down my cheek.
"Does that mean that him and Karman are still together?"
"Yes."
Alex walks over to me and gives me a big hug. "I'm so sorry sweetie."
"No you guys are just lying!" I shout and push her away. "There is no way that any of this is true."
"I thought the same thing when Beau told me but it makes sense." Alex says.
"Alex you've never liked him and now you're just making an excuse, trying to find a reason to try and make me hate him."
"Livvy, trust me. Alex and I are not lying."
"You have to be, there is no way he would do this to me, he likes me."
Alex looks at me and instantly knows what happened just last night.
"Did you sleep with him?" She asks and I nod tears streaming down my face.
"There is no way he would do this to me."
"I know I may regret saying this, but go over to his house right now. Karman is there, and they're probably doing something." Beau tells me.
I get up and walk out the door without even putting my shoes on. I walk down the sidewalk taking the short path to Jacob's. I knock on the door and his mom opens it.
"Olivia? What are you doing here?" She asks worried, obviously noticing the state of my face.
"I need to see Jacob, is he here?"
"Yes, he's upstairs with Karman." She tells me and I feel my heartbreak a little bit.
I walk past her and go straight for the stairs. I walk up and then go down the hallway to the last door on the right and come to a closed door. I put my hand on the handle but hesitate for a second before turning it and opening it wide, revealing Jacob on his bed with Karman on top of him.
"Livvy!" He exclaims and I feel tears coming again.
"I can't believe you!" I yell and see him throw Karman off him to get up.
I turn around and run as fast as I can. Down the hallway and down the stairs, out the door and to the sidewalk. He runs after me and catches me just as I'm about to get onto my porch.
"Livvy, wait!" He says as he grabs my arm.
"No Jacob, I don't have to do that."
"Let me explain."
"Explain what? That you made a bet with your friends that you could get me to fall for you? Well congratulations because you won. What were you just going to make me fall for you and then ditch me?"
"So you heard." He says quietly.
"Of course I heard! Because my friends are good to me and try to get me out of toxic situations."
"Livvy, you don't understand."
"No, Jacob, I think I understand perfectly. You don't actually like me and you never did."
"But I do."
"Do what?" I ask.
"Like you." He tells me.
"And that's why I just caught you with your girlfriend on top of you, who by the way is pregnant with your baby."
"Livvy please."
"No Jacob, have a good life because I don't want to be a part of it." I tell him and walk inside.
I close the door and slide down it. As soon as I'm sitting tears pour out, streaming down my face.
"I'm really sorry hun." I hear Alex say as she sits beside me and gives me a hug.
"It's okay, you were right, he's nothing but a jerk."
"I hope you know that I didn't want to be right." She tells me and I let out a little chuckle.
