Prologue
"You are my bestest friend Jacob." Olivia said to Jacob.
"How? You have other friends, Livvy." Jacob asks in confusion.
"You are my favorite friend!" She exclaims.
"More them Lex, and Sophie?"
"Yes, Jacob, more than them."
"Why am I your bestest friend?"
"Because we always play together, and we share our food, and we share all of our toys." She explains to him. "Some people won't share with me."
"Why wouldn't they? You are a very, very, very nice and pretty girl." Jacob tells her.
"I don't know; but you do and that is why you are my bestest friend!" She says.
"Well, you are my bestest friend too then." Jacob says with a huge grin on his face.
"I love you Jacob!"
"I love you too Livvy! We'll be bestest friends forever, right?"
"Of course we will!"
"Olivia, Jacob, time to come inside for your snack." Olivia's mom yelled from the back porch.
"Coming mommy!"
"Ya, coming Ella!"
Olivia and Jacob get up out of the sandbox and start walking to Olivia's house.
"Guess what Jacob."
"What? Did you get another new toy?"
"No, I would have told you that at school silly." She says with her cheeky grin.
"Then what?"
"It's almost my birthday!" She exclaims as they walk into the house.
"Yes it is." Olivia's dad, Austin says. "What do you want for your birthday?"
"I don't know." She replies.
"Well I'm going to get the bestest gift for my bestest friend!" Jacob tells them all.
"Ok you guys go wash up, your snack is ready!" Ella says and the kids race each other into the bathroom.
"It's hard to believe that we used to be like that." Ella says to Austin who hugs her from behind.
"Well we had our handful of arguments and disagreements." He reminds her.
"Oh, honey, we always did. Us as teenagers was not a pretty time." She says making them both laugh.
"Well I'm glad we worked it out." Austin says to his wife, and turns her around to kiss her on the lips.
"I love you Austin King."
"I love you too Ella King."
"What is for snack mommy?" Olivia says charging down the hallway.
"It's on the table sweetie." Ella replies and they all go sit down.
*A few weeks later*
"Happy birthday Olivia." Ella says walking into her daughter's room.
"Thanks mommy." She exclaims and runs up to hug her.
"You are getting so big!" Ella says picking her up.
"Well I am 5 now."
"That is true. Daddy is waiting downstairs. He made you a special birthday breakfast." Ella tells Olivia and her face lights up.
