"Kiara Malfoy."
Chapter 4: The Fear of Losing
"Kiara!" Without warning, George and Lee tugged Kiara away from Fred's grip and into their own respective hugs. Unbeknownst to anyone, Fred's face fell at the loss of holding her in his arms but he hid it with a grin.
"Merlin, I missed you all," Kiara smiled widely, feeling relieved by their presence.
"But, you definitely missed me the most, right?" George beamed, sitting down with Lee on one side while Kiara sat next to Fred. It was their usual arrangement where Fred would always sit next to Kiara with George and Lee sitting directly across from them, whether it was on the Hogwarts Express or at the Great Hall.
"Why would she miss you more? You look the same as she left us. An ugly, scrawny, specky git," Fred teased, causing George to frown. The two began to bicker about who Kiara missed the most. Kiara raised an eyebrow, wondering how Fred could insult George when they were identical twins but she wasn't surprised. She rolled her eyes, glancing at Fred who was grinning.
She couldn't help but stare as she studied him. Since she last saw him in June at the end of her fourth-year, he had changed. He had grown taller and his features had changed greatly. His flaming red hair was much shorter as well which, she thought suited him better. The same freckles were on his splattered across his face and cheeks. Fred was wearing a simple white muggle t-shirt with a pair of shorts. Undoubtedly, he could feel her stare and he turned to her, his dark brown eyes meeting hers.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer," Fred smirked, causing her cheeks to redden.
"It'll probably melt with your face on it," She muttered darkly under her breath but it was loud enough for him to hear. "And, for who I missed the most this summer, I think I missed Lee and his good looks."
Lee cheered and winked, clapping his hands together happily.
"Kiara..." George said in shock, placing his hand over his heart in mock horror.
"How could you?" Fred pouted, pushing out his bottom lip and attempted to look exceptionally miserable.
"We thought we were your favourite!" The two cried in unison.
"Love hurts, my friends. Love hurts."
"You heard the lady. I'm her favourite," Lee sniggered.
"Oh, Lee Lee-,"
"You're in for it now!"
Fred and George pounced on Lee simultaneously, dragging him to the floor of the compartment as the three wrestled. Kiara sighed at their childish antics. Clearly, there were somethings that hadn't changed over the summer and as always, the Weasley Twins never fell short from their teasing and arguments. She watched the scenery outside of the Hogwarts Express, ignoring the yelps and grunts from her feet.
"Okay, okay. I give up!" Lee gasped out in desperation as George held him in a head-lock. The twins cheered in succession. Lee groaned from the floor, touching his nose gingerly.
"Guys, you gave me a nosebleed!" Lee complained, removing his hand and surely enough, there was red liquid glistening on his dark skin.
"Oh, poor darling," Fred mocked in a girlish voice.
"Shut up, you two," Kiara demanded, glaring at the twins. She bent down to the ground and proceeded to help Lee. After Lee began to pinch his nose, she glanced back at Fred and George. "Now, you two! Please, behave."
"Yes mum," The two chorused innocently before identical, evil grins appeared on their faces.
"What are you-?" She began wearily before two pairs of hands began tickling her sides. She screamed in surprise before laughing uncontrollably, trying to roll away from them but they wouldn't budge.
