"Kiara Malfoy."
Chapter 33: Hogwarts to Hell
When Kiara awoke the next morning, the dormitory was empty. Even Hermione's bed was vacant and made, signalling that she had gone down to breakfast. Kiara quickly got ready for the day and got changed, concerned about the outcome from the DA's narrow escape with Umbridge last night. Even more so, she was concerned about Firenze's warning which seemed to play on her mind all night. She wondered what he could've possibly meant about the Phoenix rising from the flames.
A group of Gryffindors were surrounding a new notice pinned up that appeared in the Gryffindor Common Room overnight. Kiara scowled, knowing that it was most likely a new Educational Decree by the pink toad herself, possibly banning any students being out of bed past 6:00pm without reason.
Kiara managed to peer over a group of second-years and read the notice. Her heart immediately sunk much further than she expected.
BY ORDER OF THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC
Dolores Jane Umbridge (High Inquisitor) has replaced Albus Dumbledore as Head of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The above is in accordance with Educational Decree Number Twenty-eight.
Signed: Cornelius Oswald Fudge, Minister for Magic.
"Apparently, Dumbledore escaped two Aurors, Umbridge, the Minister for Magic and his Junior Assistant last night!" One of the second-year boys exclaimed.
"Yes, that's what I heard! Fudge got transfigured as a frog!" Another girl replied.
"Don't be stupid, kids. Fudge is in St Mungo's with a pumpkin for a head after Dumbledore finished with him," George chuckled. The second-years gasped with surprise and dispersed immediately with whispers. Fred and George stood on either side of Kiara, resting their arms on her shoulder.
"I didn't think that I'd see you this morning, Miss Malfoy. I thought you'd need some rest after last night," Fred sniggered, kissing her lips. "But, I guess the princess needs her beauty sleep."
Kiara rolled her eyes. "Obviously, George didn't get any, he's still ugly!"
Fred burst out with laughter and George pouted, glaring at them. "Well... Fred is ugly too, he looks like me!"
"Miss Malfoy, am I ugly?" Fred gasped, clutching his heart in mock horror.
"No, you are not Freddiekins," Kiara cooed in a sweet voice, kissing his cheek. She laughed at George's look of disgust. "Don't listen to the mean ol' Georgie poo, he's just a wee bit jealous."
"More like disgusted," George muttered, feigning gagging noises and Fred smacked him upside the head. "OUCH!"
Kiara laughed at their interaction. "Now we know why Percy was so happy last night. He must've been with Fudge."
"My guess is that he was kissing the ground behind him where he walked," Fred sniggered at the thought.
Kiara reread the notice again. She sighed disappointedly. "I just realised something... I can't speak to Dumbledore now about Firenze's warning or my Patronus."
"I'm sure he'll be back soon enough love, they can't get rid of him permanently. Remember what happened when the Chamber of Secrets opened and they sent him away? He was back soon after," Fred said, trying to calm her anxiety which shown through her white-coloured eyes.
"I guess you're right. Hogwarts is going to turn into hell now, though, with toad face in charge of things," Kiara grumbled, the annoyance clear in her voice. "At least I've got you two to get me through." The twins exchanged apprehensive looks, as though they were holding something back. Kiara narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "What aren't you both telling me?"
