"Kiara Malfoy."
Chapter 34: Goodbyes to Fred and George
It was finally the Easter holidays, giving the students a slight break from classes. Kiara was following her revision timetable closely, allocating herself specific hours to certain subjects but Fred was slowly becoming a distraction, resting his head in her lap in the Gryffindor Common Room. He would beg her quietly for her attention, typically in the form of kisses or pranking until she finally gave it to him. There were times where Kiara would retreat to the library to study, a place where Fred and George would rarely attend unless they were absolutely desperate for her assistance as they were 'allergic to books.' It reminded Kiara of how often Fred would search the library for her when they weren't dating to keep her company. He wouldn't have done that for anyone else, but he did that with Kiara because he was in love with her.
Meanwhile, the Occlumency lessons with Snape had ended after Harry managed to accidentally see one of his memories through the Pensieve until Snape caught him. To their happiness, he ended their lessons straight away. Hermione, unfortunately, took an opposite approach and did not feel confident that they, particularly Harry, had mastered Occlumency to close their minds.
On the last evening of the Easter break, Kiara was sitting in the Gryffindor Common Room with Fred and George. Her head was laying in Fred's lap as he played with her hair absentmindedly, twirling some loose strands while discussing with George the new ideas for Weasley's Wizard Wheezes.
"Maybe you guys should consider some Defence products? Like for those who can't protect themselves well?" Kiara suggested, her eyes closed as she felt so relaxed.
"Miss Malfoy! You're a genius!" Fred exclaimed, pecking my forehead with a grin. Kiara smiled at him.
"Are you thinking about your career choice?" George asked, glancing around the room at all the other fifth-years who were perusing the careers information left in the Gryffindor Common Room underneath the new notice of Careers Advice. Kiara was the only one who wasn't immersed in any leaflets. She already knew exactly what job she wanted to work towards, even if it was a long way down the future.
"Yeah... Well, Aurors aren't always going to be around to protect everyone. Affordable products will be in high demand when Voldemort comes out in the open and the Wizarding World lives in fear," Kiara admitted. It was true that she desired to be an Auror to prevent anyone suffering the same pain as her, particularly those who were unable to protect themselves. It was her dream to capture any of Voldemort's followers, including Lucius and stop them from hurting anyone ever again.
Fred squeezed her hand. "Fear can be cured with laughter and that's our goal."
"You're right and that's why I think I might help you both with the store in the summer holidays, if you're okay with that," Kiara asked and Fred and George rolled their eyes.
"No Kiara, of course you can't work with us. You're only our third owner," George teased.
"Oh, shut up. You know that I'll write up some more ideas for you," Kiara suggested as Ginny sat next to George, staring at them expectantly.
"Oh, hey Ginny. What's up?" George asked, ruffling her hair which she scowled at him pointedly, forcing him to withdraw his hand almost immediately. It was somewhat amusing to see her resemblance to Mrs Weasley. There was an unmistakeable fire in the eyes of the Weasley women.
"I need to talk to you guys," She murmured, her eyes fleeting in the direction towards where Harry was sitting with Ron and Hermione.
"Have you finally decided to profess your love to Harry?" Fred sniggered and Kiara elbowed him sharply, shutting him up for poking fun at Ginny's crush. Ginny sent her a grateful look.
