"Kiara Malfoy"
Chapter 36: Fire, Fight and Flight
The large hour-glass on the desk was slowly trickling sand from the top to the bottom, somewhat mocking in the way that the gravity pulled each grain to the floor of the glass. The only sound that could be heard was the furious scrambling and scratching of quills against parchment paper in the final exam for the fifth-years, History of Magic.
Kiara's exam was nearly complete as she finished the answer to question ten about the formation of the International Confederation of Wizards. A part of her hoped that she would fail History of Magic so that she wouldn't need to proceed with it ever again. It was a boring subject, and she couldn't imagine ever needing the useless information that she learnt ever again.
Suddenly, there was a loud yell from behind her. She jumped in her seat, almost falling out of it herself as she turned to see Harry on the ground, clutching his scar as he yelled in anguish. Ron, who was towards the back of the Hall, began to rise in his chair but caught her eye as she shook her head, indicating to him that they shouldn't make such a fuss over him. It would draw unnecessary attention to him. There didn't need to be another article in the Daily Prophet that Harry was deranged and disturbed. One of the examiners helped Harry out who was stammering out replies hastily while the others ushered everyone back into silence, urging them to continue.
Kiara exchanged an anxious look with Hermione and Ron before turning in her seat, focusing her remaining attention on her exam. The three of them wore a similar weary look for Harry, knowing that he must've had a vision of some sort. She finished her last question before waiting for the end of the exam.
"Quills down everyone. The History of Magic exam is now finished. Accio."
The parchments soared to the front of the room as the Fifth-Years were all dismissed for their final exam. The students began to whisper in hushed and excited voices, discussing their questions and rejoicing about finally finishing their exams. Kiara ignored them, hurrying to the front to meet with Hermione and Ron who stood nervously.
"He had a vision, didn't he?" Ron muttered, glancing around them to make sure no one could overhear their conversation.
"Looks like it. Did you have one Kiara?" Hermione said warily, glancing nervously around the Entrance Hall.
Kiara shook her head. "Not at all. Maybe this vision wasn't for me." Harry suddenly sprinted around the corner as they climbed the marble staircase at a fast pace, attempting to find him.
"Harry!" Hermione cried, looking frightened. "What happened? Are you all right? Are you ill?"
"Where have you been?" Ron demanded.
"Come with me. Come on, I've got to tell you something," Harry said quickly, leading them into an empty classroom on the first-floor corridor, practically diving for the door. His face was stone white and he looked troubled, his hands shaking. "Voldemort's got Sirius."
"What?" Kiara gasped, covering her mouth in horror.
"How d'you-,"
"Saw it. Just now. When I fell asleep in the exam."
"But-But where? How?" Hermione asked, her face equally as white as Harry's.
"I dunno how. But I know exactly where. There's a room in the Department of Mysteries full of shelves covered in these little glass balls and they're at the end of row ninety-seven... He's trying to use Sirius to get whatever it is he wants from in there... He's torturing him... Says he'll end by killing him!"
