Chapter 10: Trapped in Nightmares

It was dinnertime at Hogwarts but Fred Weasley didn't feel like eating as he sat at the Gryffindor Table in the Great Hall. He continued to play with his food, looking towards the doors to the Entrance Hall every few seconds as if he would see a certain blonde-haired Gryffindor enter. George, Lee, Harry, Ron and Hermione sat around them, sitting in silence. They were too worried to eat besides Ron who continued to eat plate after plate, ignoring the glares Hermione shooting him.

Kiara was missing all day. No one had seen her since that morning when she left with McGonagall to see Dumbledore. After that, she was gone without any explanation of her whereabouts. She hadn't attended any lessons at all that day, according to Harry, Ron and Hermione. Before dinner, they searched the whole castle to find her.

Fred's best friend was missing and right now, he could not think of anything else except her.

Every minute that they waited, Fred became more and more worried. They all were worried. Even Ron began to look queasy as he continued to eat. Fred looked up at the High Table, anxious to see if McGonagall or Dumbledore were sitting there so he could question them. Unfortunately, both of their seats were empty. A few seats down, Umbridge, who recently became the new High Inquisitor was watching the students with gleaming eyes. Fred couldn't even will the urge to hate Umbridge in that moment. He could only think about Kiara and wonder if she was safe. If anything happened to Kiara, wouldn't they know by now?

"We have to do something," Hermione broke the silence.

"What?" Lee asked gloomily. "We have no idea where Kiara is or any hint of where she could be."

Suddenly, an idea appeared in Fred's mind. "We don't know. But I know what does..."

Everyone looked at Fred questioningly except George who seemed to understand his brother's words immediately.

"I solemnly swear-,"

"That I am up to no good."

Everyone suddenly stood up while Ron groaned about not finishing his food until Hermione slapped him across the head to shut him up. Once out of sight of the teachers, they sprinted up the Grand Staircase to the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Mimbulus Mimbletonia! Now, open the hell up," Fred yelled at the Fat Lady who looked taken back.

"I will not tolerate that language. Be politer and I will consider letting you in," She huffed in anger. He was about to retaliate when Hermione answered her back calmly.

"Sorry miss. He didn't mean it. Our friend is in danger and we need to find her. He's very worried," Hermione said quickly. The Fat Lady's eyes grew wide and the portrait swung open. After they entered, she whispered to herself, "Young love, so sweet. They might not realise it yet, but they will."

Harry led the group to the fifth-years boy's dormitory where he threw open his trunk. He rummaged through it, looking for the Marauders Map and tossing objects out at random.

"Come on. Where-?" Harry muttered, grinding his teeth before Hermione interrupted.

"Accio Marauders Map."

A piece of blank parchment flew out of Harry's trunk and landed in Hermione's outstretched hand. Fred drew his wand and tapped it, "I solemnly swear that I am up to no good."

Where his wand touched the parchment, ink blossomed and grew like a spiderweb, showing the title, Messers Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, are proud to present, the Marauders Map. Soon enough, the ink blossoms began to join, presenting a map of Hogwarts and showing the people inside.
