"Kiara Malfoy."
Chapter 15: The Magic Within
The Sunday after Hogsmeade was quite a fun and relaxing day. For most of the day, Kiara relaxed with Fred and George, lounging around the Common Room while people played outside in the snow.
"Kiara, are you nearly ready in there?" Hermione's voice called on Monday morning, from outside the bathroom.
"Done," Kiara replied, throwing her hair into a messy ponytail with a few strands of hair falling into her face. Suddenly, she heard a loud, wailing noise coming from the direction of the stairs. "Seems like some boys are trying to get in," Kiara rolled her eyes as she exited the bathroom.
"Er - I don't think we're allowed in the girls' dormitories."
"Is that Harry?" Kiara asked and Hermione nodded.
"I think so."
"Oooh, who tried to get upstairs?" Two female voices giggled and Kiara raised her eyebrows.
"Me," Ron's voice echoed. Hermione tugged on her arm and they walked to the spiral staircase before sliding down the flattened stairs.
"Hermione and Kiara are allowed in our dormitory, how come we're not allowed-?" Ron broke off as they appeared at their feet.
"Well, it's an old-fashioned rule," Hermione explained. "But it says in Hogwarts: A History, that the founders thought boys were less trustworthy than girls."
"And, they are right," Kiara said under her breath, thinking about Fred and George and what they would do if they could get in the girls' dormitory.
"Why were you two trying to get in there anyway?" Hermione asked.
"To see you two - look at this!" Ron cried, grabbing their wrists and pulling them to a large sign that covered the Gryffindor noticeboard. It was printed in large, black letters and there was an official looking seal at the bottom beside a pink signature:
BY ORDER OF THE HIGH INQUISITOR OF HOGWARTS.
All student organisations, societies, teams, groups and clubs are henceforth, disbanded.
An organisation, society, team, group, or club is hereby defined as a regular meeting of three or more students.
Permission to re-form may be sought from the High Inquisitor (Professor Umbridge.)
No student organisation, society, team, group or club may exist without the knowledge and approval of the High Inquisitor.
Any student found to have formed, or to belong to, an organisation, society, team, group or club that has not been approved by the High Inquisitor, will be expelled.
The above is in accordance with Educational Decree Number Twenty-Four.
Signed: Dolores Jane Umbridge, High Inquisitor.
Kiara scowled at the sign, her blood boiling with fury. Somehow, Umbridge overheard their meeting.
"You think just because you're all honourable and trustworthy-,"
"That parchment we all signed was jinxed," Kiara interrupted Ron's rant to Hermione and his eyes widened. "A powerful jinx."
"Believe me, if anyone run off and told Umbridge, we'll know exactly who they are and they will regret it," Hermione said grimly.
"What'll happen to them?" Ron asked eagerly while Harry stood next to him silently, his face stony.
"Well, put it this way. It'll make Eloise Midgeon's acne look like a couple of cute freckles. Come on, let's go down to breakfast and see what the others think... I wonder whether this has been put up in all the houses?"
