Recap:
"Luffy! You got a bite!"
Luffy started reeling his rod and a huge silhouette was seen in the waters.
"There's a fish! It's huge!" And heavy too when the ship started leaning towards the water.
"Pull it up, Luffy!"
"Luffy... go..."
"You can do it, Luffy!"
"Food.."
They all started cheering for him.
Eventually, he managed to pull it out of the water and high into the air.
"Let's eat!"
On with Chapter 69:
3RD PERSON POV
After much struggle, Luffy, Brook, Pedro, and Chopper managed to pull the fish out of water and onto the deck. They cheered seeing the huge purple and green fish as their next meal.
"I did it!" Luffy cheered.
"We're gonna be alright now. But this fish...." Nami's sentence trailed off with suspicion.
"Its colour doesn't seem right." Chopper pointed out.
"Is it okay to eat?" Nami asked to no one in particular.
"I feel like I've seen this fish before... But I don't remember anything about it.." (Y/n) had her hand place on her forehead, racking her brain to find the answers. She couldn't remember which purple fish was safe and which wasn't..
"It's pretty doubtful..." Brook added.
However, Luffy was not having it. He was the one starving the most out of all of them, for some reason.
"What are you saying?! There's no such thing as an inedible fish!" he complained as he went closer to the fish.
"Luffy! Wait a sec! I'll go check real quick!" Chopper said before running off to somewhere.
"Whatever." Luffy dismissed Chopper's actions before digging into the fish skin with his bare hands. Pedro even helped him cut it with his rapier.
"Luffy.. I think you should wait for Chopper before eating.." (Y/n) tried to stop the man but she was easily ignored when he stuffed the fish skin into his mouth.
A few seconds passed before Chopper's exclaim was heard.
"Luffy! Watch out for its skin! The skin of that fish is extremely poisonous! Look! I found Sanji's note!" he shouted before meeting the sight of Luffy.
"Luffy! Wait! I'll grill it for you!" even Nami was too late to stop him.
Luffy however did not care and offered a piece to Carrot, who fortunately declined.
"Luffy!" Chopper cried and it finally got everyone's attention.
He then began explaining the dangers of the fish.
"Extremely poisonous?" Luffy repeated and everyone slowly stepped back from the fish. "Oops, I ate it." he started sweating with nervousness.
"What about you guys?!" the doctor asked.
"No one else has eaten any. We were waiting for you." (Y/n) answered on behalf.
"Are you okay?" Nami asked her captain.
