"They-gara are very dependable!" Nekomamushi commented.
"You have good friends." Inuarashi added.
"Mhm, they seem really reliable." (Y/n) stated.
The 3 of them glanced at the Witch, since she was in the same boat as Robin.
(Y/n), without having to be asked, sighed, "Well, it's not the first time I was targeted." she glanced at Law who was looking as serious as ever, maybe even more, "But, I trust my friends too. Without them, I wouldn't be here now actually." she said that with such warmth in her words. "I really love them a lot."
If one had paid attention, they would have noticed Law using his hat to cover his blushing face.
On with Chapter 62:
3RD PERSON POV
"By the way, how do you guys know so much about the Poneglyphs?" (Y/n) decided to ask the two guardians.
"It all started with our master - Kozuki Oden-sama who used to have an interest in the stones. Because..." Nekomamushi paused to look at Inuarashi, "Is it okay to tell them, dog?"
Inuarashi looked at the three samurais for approval. In response, Momo stepped forward, "Go ahead, you don't have to hide anything from them. You can tell them anything." he said before getting scolded by Luffy for sounding bossy.
While they were bantering in the background, Robin continued asking, "Now, what's with the person - Kozuki Oden?"
"Ah.." Nekomamushi paused to inhale his pipe, "the Kozuki Family of the Land of Wano was, in fact, a clan of stonemasons that has quarried stones and processed them for generations. They are still highly skilled."
"It goes way back, 800 years ago... The Kozuki clan invented an indestructible book with their sophisticated skills. That's what the Poneglyphs are!"
While everyone was shocked at the new information, (Y/n) quickly asked a question, "So, were they the ones who made all those Poneglyphs in the world?!"
Before she got her answer though, Luffy exclaimed to Momo, "You made the stones that Robin is looking for?!"
"Not me! It was my ancestors from way back!"
"Then, do you guys know what's written on them?!"
"That hasn't been passed down fully through generations." Kanjuro decided to speak up.
"You can find it out by reading the stones."
"The only thing that has been passed down was how to read and write the ancient text."
"However..." the people of Wano had a sorrowful look on their faces, "Unfortunately, that's.."
"Before it was passed down to Momonosuke-sama, it was cut off at his father, Kozuki Oden-sama's generation!"
"By "cut off", you mean Momo's father is..." (Y/n) was hesitant to find out.
"Yes, Oden-sama is... Wano..." Kin'emon struggled to complete his sentence as he and his group started crying, Nekomamushi and Inuarashi too."
"Hey! It's okay if you don't wanna talk about it!" Luffy tried to calm them down but they were overwhelmed with sadness.
They all went into a prostrate position. "Oden-sama was...executed! By the shogun of the Land of Wano and the Pirate Kaido!"
