Recap:
"Don't worry! We'll know where they are soon." the Navigator who has been with the crew all this time said. So everything should be fine, right?
Less than a second after Nami had spoke, sounds of people screaming came from the town.
"Somebody ate a cake!"
"Ah, I guess we found out where they are." (Y/n) commented while Pekoms cussed.
On with Chapter 72:
3RD PERSON POV
The group ran towards the centre of the chaos and found Luffy and Chopper, stomach filled with chocolate, sitting on the ground surrounded by the citizens who were shocked at the situation. They both looked too happy while being scolded by the Police.
"Oh no! They're gonna get arrested!" Pedro said and grabbed the handle of his sword.
"Don't make a scene, Pedro-san!" Brook's scolding made Pedro think twice about his actions.
"Wait, Chocopolice-san!" a voice was heard coming from the sky. (Yn) looked up and saw a flying carpet coming towards them.
"They're in trouble! What should we do?!" Brook panicked. At the same time, Nami and Carrot finally caught up.
"Is that..." "A magic carpet?" (Y/n) raised her eyebrows in amazement at the sight.
The said magic carpet flew around a bit and slowly floated down towards the ground, allowing the person riding it to step off easily.
The police fixed his posture before giving a salute, "Oh you're the..owner!"
"Oh, more trouble! The owner of the cafe came!"
Pedro may have released his grip on his sword, but he looked like he was ready to run in and fight off anyone.
"Look what they've done to your cafe!"
"Oh! I can't believe this!" the owner exclaimed and went closer towards Chopper and Luffy. She placed her hand on her hips and gave an angry pout. "How could you leave this much? This isn't what we agreed to! Gee!"
(Y/n) and friends were confused. They didn't contact anyone beforehand. "This isn't what we agreed to" ? Did the two agree to something in the matter of seconds they were gone? Or was the owner saving their butts for some reason?
"You have to finish it properly!" the owner lightly scolded before turning away and walking towards the broken cafe.
Even the police was as confused with the reaction but didn't argue about it.
The owner crouched down and broke off a piece of the wall, "I thought the combination of jam and biscuits and chocolate here were delicious!"
While the owner was muttering to herself, the magic carpet flew by. Luffy tried to reach for his but instead accidentally toppled himself onto his stomach like a tortoise on its shell.
Chopper fortunately managed to help him get right back up and the two were greeted again by the owner holding a piece of the cafe wall, "Here! Try this!"
Despite already being filled with chocolate, the two boys did not hesitate to accept more of the treat.
"How is it?" the owner asked.
"It's good!" they both cheered and accidentally toppled themselves onto their backs.
The owner finally turned back to the police, "ChocoPolice-san, I'm sorry. The cafe will be expired soon so I asked them to eat the whole building!" she said.
"Oh, pardon me!" The police said, "I didn't know they were a demolition crew!" he turned to Luffy and Chopper, who were still on their backs, "Come on, guys! You should've had a sign out when you were working. There were still some customers, too." (Y/n) sighed at that statement, "Well then, if you'll excuse me." the police excused himself and the owner bowed back, "Yes, thank you! And I'm sorry to disturb you, everyone!" she apologized to the crowd.
"So it was nothing serious."
"Oh, we were so worried!"
The crowd slowly dispersed...
"Oh, yeah! Congratulations on getting married, Pudding-sama!"
It was only when the police congratulated the owner did (Y/n) realize who they were facing this entire time, ' 'Pudding'? Charlotte Pudding?' She thought while staring at the cafe owner with wide eyes. Her heart might have skipped a beat.
She was able to do some research on the Charlotte family through the news and eavesdropping on people on the street. She knew of Big Mom's many children, have heard of few names, and knew of fewer faces...
Back to the conversation, the police was still congratulating Pudding on her marriage, "Your wedding day is approaching and you're checking in on your cafe? Don't work too much. We all wish for your happiness!"
Pudding's face slowly turned red from being flustered, "Thank you!"
"She saved Luffy and Chopper."
"She's so kind. I wonder who it is."
(Y/n) wanted to tell them who Pudding was, but she feared some people couldn't keep their mouths shut and spew out everything about their plan at once. So she decided to keep the knowledge to herself for now..
"They're so lucky!"
"Yo-ho-ho-ho! This is how fortune favours the Pirate King to-be."
"Eh? Captain Pedro?!" an unfamiliar voice spoke behind them and caught everyone's attention. They turned towards the voice to see it was a Mink.
"You're Captain Pedro, aren't you?!" he said maybe a tad bit too loudly for their liking, "I thought so! It's been a while! Why are you here-" Pedro grabbed the Mink by the muzzle to shut him and whispered harshly, "I'm here for sightseeing. Don't tell anyone."
"O-Okay, it's a pleasure to see you." the Mink responded after his mouth was released.
The 2 didn't continue conversing after that as the Straw Hat group walked away. Nami was the first to ask Pedro, "You know people in this town?"
The Mink stayed silent for a second before answering, "I'll tell you later." and left it at that.
It just raised more questions than answers...
