It was bustling in Sans little workshop. Thanks to Alphys' little magic trick that got the whole house powered, they had a warm place to rest up above, and a little work space down below. The lizard woman took a good, long look at the machine Sans had started and the schematics behind what it was supposed to do. "Y-your calculations are p-pretty solid... th-this is amazing..." She awed over the blueprints. "H-however, I think I know where I c-can improve upon this design." Sans nodded along, leaning into the wall. "go for it, al. you're the genius here." Alphys gave him a look. "Considering this is y-your work in one of the h-hardest fields in science - I b-beg to differ." Sam frowned softly. "I don't get any of it, so you're both geniuses to me." He pointed out. "ya know ya can head up with paps and tori, right? undyne's on her way to do the heavy lifting, so you can relax." Sans suggested. Sam shook his head. "Not really. This is kinda huge. I wanna help out, even if I don't get the science of it -" The two couldn't argue with that.

So, Sans decided to help explain what they were planning to do in simpler terms that his friends could understand. Essentially, they were poking a hole into reality and tossing a tether into the Void for Dr. Gaster to latch onto. Someone Gaster was familiar with and would reach for. Then they would pull him out, stitch reality back together before it starts unraveling at the seems, and use a secondary device to anchor him in place before he starts to scatter again. Of course, it was a lot more complicated than it sounded, and Alphys was trying to convince Dr. Whittaker to help them, but after Sam's little show in the execution chamber, the man was pretty spoked by the necro. He didn't blame him. "So... you're building another device?" Sam asked. "Y-yeah. The Void s-scattered Gaster a-across time and space, right? So w-we are going to need a-an artificial anchor t-to hold him in place u-until we can f-find a more permanent solution." Alphys explained. Sam really didn't get it, but he nodded anyway. Sans gave him a sympathetic grin. "ya can still always head upstairs, nobody would blame ya."

Sam didn't need to get it, though. He just needed to know what they needed. He could get the materials. He could hold things in place. Time ticked forward and the newly revised blueprints, as well as the blueprints for some sort of chip were ready. Sam could really start helping out as they scavenged for parts at the True Lab, with Undyne. "Thats so freaky that you're that kid from the graveyard." Undyne commented offhandedly. "I'm shocked you even remember that." Sam admitted as he grabbed a box of loose wires to add to their collection of parts. "Yeah, it's been bugging me. Is that grave empty? Did they just bury a coffin?" Sam shook his head. "I think your forgetting, this form is a magical projection. My real body is in that grave, probably just bones by now." Undyne shuttered slightly. "Man, that's gotta be totally weird to you." Sam thought for a moment before shrugging. "I had hundreds of years to get used to it. It's not as off-putting as it used to be." He admitted. "Huh. Yeah, I guess when you put it that way." She heaved a bag of parts over her shoulder. "Let's get these back, weirdo."
