stand up for the judge,
the time has arrived
to deliver justice
to the court
last adjourned.
time entered the courtroom
without oath,
and the courtroom
kept no transcript.
why was evidence
submitted as feeling
and not simple, plain fact?
memories testified,
then contradicted themselves.
time objected only when
the sacred, unholy truth
announced its brutal presence.
the judge was time,
and the verdict changed yearly.
scars were entered into record.
skin objected.
cross-examination eroded the facts.
justice adjourned indefinitely.
the jury was composed of years.
truth was ruled inadmissible
due to age.
the case collapsed
under reasonable doubt.
the gavel fell,
but nothing ended.
silence was sustained.
the courtroom stood empty.
yet, time...it remained.
