So I'm doing research on the Faroe Islands for Johanna and I found out they aren't independent. They are still under Denmark's rules. I'm reading more and more into it and it sounds like Denmark pretty much holds Faroe's hand. It's even funnier is at this point it seems like Denmark doesn't really care if this set of islands declares independence since they pretty much rule themselves already. Only thing Denmark does is control their military and justice system, currency, and foreign affairs.
So now all I can picture is Mathais holding Johanna's hand and protecting her from anyone who tries to hurt her. Mostly since she's never been independent from him. Also been under his control. Still working on her since I never really figured out what she would be like.
