I just noticed, but Dika and Kiku have a lot in common. Not only are both pretty socially awkward, but they both have changed in their live style. Kiku had to change with countries, mostly America it seems, coming in and teaching his people knew things. He struggled to change with it, but he did. Dika did too. When Alfred made her a state, she struggled to change with the American culture that was being pushed on her. Though she also had to change from Russian culture to her own Alaskan one. They are both great fighters and have their own morals and believes.

Also they did grow up together since Yao and Ivan are such good friends, Kiku and Dika saw each other a lot. So it's safe to say they are pretty good friends. I wouldn't say they are best friends since I wouldn't really know. Yet I can picture them getting together once a month at least and just talking. After all, when you've been isolated for so long and just get pushed in with little say in the matter, you kind of want to find a friend who understands and will listen.
