*Jax POV*
I had a feeling that I was still outside but I wasn't expecting to be startled awake by the sound of screaming coming from my house. It took me a minute to finally realize that, yes, someone was actually screaming in my house. I shot up from my spot on the ground as did Oliver; I assumed he heard the screaming as well because his eyes were wide when we made eye contact. We rushed inside to find Nate with Max in his arms. Max was not happy at all; he was the one screaming with tears streaming down his face. When Max saw us walking in his arms reached out wanting us to hold him.
"Max I'm your brother as well, you don't have to be afraid of me," Nate gritted through his teeth trying to remain calm. I grabbed my brother out of his arms and Max almost calmed down immediately, putting his face in the crook of my neck. Oliver stood next to me rubbing circles on Max's back as he glared at Nate. Nate tried to match Oliver's intense gaze but backed down knowing he couldn't outglare Oliver.
"What the hell happened?!" My father yelled rushing into the kitchen as well looking around between the three of us. I shrugged my shoulders not really knowing what happened either but Nate spoke up through the silence.
"I thought Max was hungry so I picked him up to bring him in the kitchen but he started screaming and crying. I didn't know what I did wrong," he stated scratching the back of his neck.
"Nate, he doesn't know you that well, in fact, he doesn't know you at all. You were gone before he was born. He only really allows me, Jax or Oliver to carry him, your mother of course can carry him but it's usually us three," my father responded staring at Nate.
"Why does everything I do have to be wrong in this house? And why the hell can the precious Oliver do the things I can't?!" Nate said his voice rising towards the end.
Oliver nudged me, nodding his head towards the door. I understood the silent meaning. We started walking in the direction of the living room so Max didn't have to be around the yelling.
"Don't you fucking walk away from me you bastard," Nate stated through clenched teeth. Oliver turned around with a hard glare then smirked.
"Excuse me? I'm the bastard? Am I the one who locked his own brother in a damn closet to then forget about him later? No? That's what I thought, don't ever and I mean ever try to tell me what to do. You don't own me, you are not in control of me, so get off my fucking back," he said surprisingly calm, but a little too calmly. He turned around following me back towards the living room. I knew my father and Nate were probably going to get into another argument which I could care less about. It sucked for my parents, but regardless he's their son.
It was still pretty early for school but since Oliver is expelled for the rest of the year I was going to take today off. There was only a couple more months left of school so Oliver really wasn't going to miss much, that's if he came back next year.
"Hey Oliver, are you going to be able to come back next year?" I asked setting Max down to play with his laid out toys. I plopped down on the couch next to him, crossing my legs underneath me. I turned my head to look at him; he did the same after a couple of seconds probably trying to think of the answer.
"I honestly don't know, I was supposed to go back into Mr. Preston's office to discuss how long the expulsion was going to last but I didn't get the chance because Mrs. Salva came out and announced it to most of the school, bitch. How can a principal even do that? She should be fired for what she did. She went against protocol pulling that little stunt. I honestly would expect something like that from Mrs. Langston but not from the damn principal," he muttered.
"Couldn't you call the school or something to set up another meeting?"
"I don't know, probably but if they want to see me that badly they can call me or Olivia."
