Dedicated to all of you wonderful people liking and reading my story c:

*Oliver's Pov*

It was only me and Heather with Kailee and Max left in the house. It didn't feel awkward because of how close I was to Jax's family. Heather was still busy making the lunches for Kailee and Max. "I can finish with the lunches, Heather, why don't you get Kailee and Max ready?" I asked her politely.

She sighed looking up from snacks she was busy arranging, "You are too sweet for your own good, you know that?" she said softly. I could only think to myself, 'If you only knew.'

"Only sweet to people I know, trust me on that," I said as she put down what she was doing.

"Alright, alright, you can finish the lunches if you so desperately want to give me said break," she responded jokingly a smile making its way upon her face. I smiled back at her then she made her way towards Kailee and Max's rooms.

I walked around the kitchen counter so I was in front of what she previously had out. I began putting away the snacks for Kailee and Max when I realized that Jax forgot his lunch as well. Being the nerd he is, he had to have a superman lunchbox. I just chuckled quietly thinking this seventeen year old still had the same lunch box from when we were kids. Thinking back I realized I wasn't the only one who was saved that day he helped me. (A/n italics simply mean a flashback)

I remember falling on the ground scrapping my knee when we were outside playing for recess. I thought to myself my step-father couldn't see this, he would beat me more saying he should be the only one marking my body, already marked as it was. I had just turned five a month before and I soon realized I needed to get out because I needed to protect my brothers and sisters. Jax, being his five year old self saw me and ran over from where he was playing crouching down from where I was laying.

He began taking out different things which I assumed were to help me. He had Band-Aids, even those wet wipes mothers always carried around. He also pulled out Neosporin. 'This kid is prepared' I had thought to myself as I stared at him dumbfounded because no one tried helping us, meaning me and my other siblings. Everyone was afraid of the consequences, but not this kid.

He gently wiped my knee but firm enough to get the gravel and dirt out of the cut. He applied the ointment just as carefully then put the Band-Aid in place smiling up at me.

"You're going to be okay now, and my name is Jax." He said extending his small hand in which I had taken shaking it.

"Thank you Jax, my name is Ollie. You know you would make a great doctor," I said to him giving him a smile. We became the best of friends, inseparable and attached to the hip as one would say.

I was brought out of my thoughts when my phone began ringing. I pulled it out of my pocket as the caller I.D. read 'Mr. Preston." Curious and thinking it was odd that he was calling me, I picked up the phone with a 'Hello.'

He began to explain to me what my sister explained to me earlier saying that I could come back to graduate considering I had the credits to move up. He told me as Olivia said that I would have to still take finals to make it official.

He also needed someone to help him watch the freshmen as they took their exams. He explained that the 'community service' would be good enough and that I could take my exams after everyone was finished meaning when everyone went home I would finish the exams they had for that day in a certain time frame. I was surprised to say the least but I knew I could finish in the time he gave me.

I told him I would be at the school shortly not telling him I was going there anyway to drop off Jax's lunch. We exchanged farewells and hung up. I packed the rest of the food away in the correct lunch boxes as Kailee and Max, followed by Heather entered the kitchen. Kailee and Max were all smiles when they saw me.
