*Oliver's POV*
Another week as passed and Jax is still acting a little weirder than usual. Friday is usually when we hang out; I mean we usually hang out most of the time but not this Friday. Jax decided on hanging out with other people that occasionally talk or try to flirt with him. He's been kind of distancing himself from me lately and I don't understand why.
My thoughts were cut short by the constant buzzing of my phone in my jacket pocket. I pulled it out noticing it was Jax's mom, Heather. "Hello, Mrs. Greyson," I answered.
"Hi, Oliver, I was wondering if you had anything planned later today because I know Jax is going out."
"No, I don't think I have anything going on. Why, what's up?"
"Could you maybe watch Kailee and Max for tonight?"
"Sure, you and Mr. Greyson deserve to have some time alone considering everything going on and with them being younger it's hard to go out. If you want I could pick Kailee and Max up from school and daycare I would just have to put the car-seats in the back of my car."
"Thank you Oliver! I picked up Kailee already from school so only Max has to be picked up. It means a lot, thank you; you are too sweet, thank you again." If only you knew Heather, if you knew I was in a gang, you probably wouldn't think that.
"It's really no problem Mrs. Greyson, don't worry. Have fun tonight, but hey not too much fun." I added with a chuckle. I thought she would correct me on the name but maybe she was too preoccupied.
"Yes, I will thank you Oliver, I will see you at the house to give you the car-seats then I must be on my way."
"Alright cool see you soon, bye." After she returned the farewell I hung up the phone. I got off the bed that I usually sleep in at the gang house if I'm not at Jax's.
I grabbed my keys, wallet and phone heading out of the house. Before leaving I told Mickael where I would be in case he needed me for anything. Everyone else seemed to be sleeping or doing what they do. I jogged down the steps heading to where my car was parked hopping in and let it come to life, not literally of course. If cars came to life every time someone started it I think I would go into hiding forever.
Anyway, I drove to the Greyson's house taking me about 15 minutes to get there. When I pulled in I noticed Mr. Greyson's car parked out of the garage, Mrs. Greyson's car must be safely in the garage since it was not in the driveway. Jax's car was nowhere to be seen.
I hopped out after parking in Jax's usual parking space. When I got the door opened my nose was assaulted from the different scents lingering from kitchen. Curious, I went to see what Mrs. Greyson was making heading to the kitchen.
I stopped in the doorway leaning against it watching Mrs. Greyson and Kailee make their favorite, chocolate chip cookies and brownies, I wasn't trying to be a creep or anything but I loved how close Jax's family was, their home always feels lively with everyone going about.
I could tell Kailee was concentrating really hard on forming the cookie dough into circles by her scrunched eyebrows and a little bit of her tongue sticking out of her mouth. I smiled and as if she knew I was there she looked up from her work.
Her face lit up putting the circle she was working with on the baking sheet. "Oliver!" she said happily running over to me. I crouched down as she ran into me her arms going around my neck. I picked her up easily and her legs went around my torso. "Hey Ailee-bear," I said with a smile.
Her smile widened and she hugged me tighter. I heard Mrs. Greyson let out a small chuckle as I loosened my hold on her but still held her up. I walked over to Mrs. Greyson kissing her on the cheek, a habit I must have picked up from Jax. She smiled at me as I set Kailee down.
