Double Act - Chapter 29

~~ Lara's P.O.V ~~

It took everything I had not to turn around when Louis muttered that under his breath. How dare he? He just assumes he knows so much about me, and he accused me of being a know-it-all! I do not run away from all of my problems. I have way too many problems to run away from. In one direction, there's one problem, I turn around, and there's another staring me right in the face. I just can't win.

I stormed back to where me and my sister were staying, along with the other contestants, which was just a short walk from the arena where we performed each night.

The walk in the cool air gave me time to think, too, and I realised how angry I actually was. Louis actually opted to send my sister and I home. He knew how much this meant to me. To us. How could he just choose to throw that away? I had been scared witless up in that stage for my sister and no way in hell was that going to go to waste. Louis knew that. He was so childish.

As I stormed along the pavement with my thoughts buzzing around my head like a swarm of angry bees, I was back to the hotel in no time. Soon enough I stood infront of a closed door with my arms crossed over my chest and my eyes set in a dark glare as my sister looked me up and down, a smirk playing upon her lips. I huffed.

"What happened to you?" she giggled, flouncing away with the bowl of popcorn she was carrying. I didn't really want to follow her in to the lounge, but the popcorn was calling to me. I traipsed after her, cursing under my breath.

I found her sitting cross legged in her pyjamas infront of the TV. That surprised me, since it was almost half past eleven, but even so I wasn't about to ignore that big bowl of popcorn. I slid down beside her and eyed the yellow balls of goodness as she popped one after the other in to her mouth. I sighed.

"You haven't answered my question," she pointed out, not glancing away from the television, the light from it illuminating her face and making her look slightly deranged.

"You haven't offered me any popcorn," I retorted, licking my lips as I stared at the bowl.

Liv rolled her eyes fondly and pushed the bowl gently on to the carpet between us. I instantly plunged my hand in to the bowl, lifting it out only when it was full of salty, puffy, yellow kernels.

Liv grimaced as I shoved as many as I could in to my mouth. "Gross," she muttered, taking one herself and munching on it gleefully. "Okay, missy," she demanded, muting the television and turning her whole body to face me. "Answers,"

I shrugged. "I'm vust veally angy ack wewy vor genging uf hum," I managed, a few pieces of popcorn escaping as I tried to get the words out.

Liv stared at me blankly before replying "In English, preferably,"

I rolled my eyes, and swallowed loudly, clearing my mouth. "I'm really mad a Louis for choosing to send us home,"

Liv frowned. "But we got through anyway!" she protested.

I shook my head, and sighed. "You don't get it either. I'm happy we got through, I'm just pissed that Louis doesn't have enough faith in us to send us through to the next rou-"

"Wait, wait, wait," Liv interrupted. "By 'either' I'm guessing you've talked to him about this?" she asked, sounding very disapproving.

Not sure where this conversation was going, I nodded warily. That set her off. "You idiot! You had an argument with him about this? That's so... so... stupid!" she seethed, her eyes almost popping from her sockets. "Lara, I know you don't like the boy at the moment, but you need to apologize. Tomorrow,"
