Double Act - Chapter 11

~~ Lara's P.O.V ~~

"Oh my gosh, I hope we get Katy! No wait, I want Ella! She's so talented! But Gary seems like such a good mentor... Forget that. I want Louis. We have to get Louis. But then again..."

This is what I had been listening to for about 2 hours now. Ever since we had woken up this morning, all Liv could talk about was who we would get as our mentor. I didn't really mind, but a small part of me desperately wished for Louis to get the groups, though I would never admit it.

One of James' best mates had told us that our auditions had been shown on the programme. I was absolutely mortified, completely forgetting that fact that we'd been filmed up on that stage, and refused to watch it. Livvy, on the other hand, watched it over and over again and had told most of the school, not seeming to be able to get over the fact that she was on television.

She also fancied the thought of Louis Tomlinson staring in awe at her during our performance. Little did she know that while she had been fangirling, I had been busy texting back and forth with Louis himself.

I was broken out of my thoughts by Liv turning to look at me expectantly for an answer to a question she had apparently just asked. I raised my eyebrows and tilted my head, hoping for her to repeat the question. She rolled her eyes.

"I asked who you've been texting for the past week. You've barely put down that bloody phone of yours!" she gestured toward the device on my lap, and I snatched it up in panic. She frowned, then smirked at me.

Hoping that meant I was off the hook, I once again fixed my gaze on the screen of my phone. No new messages. I wasn't really surprised, but it still saddened me. Louis had told me that he'd be busy today, setting stuff up for the meeting of the groups and the mentors, and that he'd text me when he could. He had said he couldn't tell me which of the groups he had, so I eventually gave up asking. I sighed, and looked out of the window.

We were enroute to our mentor's home, still not knowing where we were headed or who awaited us there. The other 5 groups, along with Liv and I, were ushered into vans and sent on our way. It sounds cheap, but the interior was unbelievably posh. Shiny black leather seats, tinted windows, a mini bar! Liv and I both agreed that we'd take this over our crappy bedroom anyday.

I was sat next to my sister in the two seats nearest the front of the vehicle. The four lads of Four Life sat in the seats behind us, and it sounded like another boy group sat in the back seats. The lads were all very noisy, but I didn't mind. I'd rather that than nervous silence.

The vehicle suddenly jolted to a stop. After glancing down at my phone to ackowledge the lack of messages, I slipped it into my pocket and peered out of the car window. For security reasons, we weren't allowed to know how to get here. I was a little confused about why that was needed, then remembered the extremes my sister would go to to get a glimpes of a celebrity and realised it was probably just as well.

The door to Liv's left opened, and we clambered out of the van onto a huge gravelled driveway. James, Callum, Ollie and Dylan all filed out after us, followed by a boisterous group of 3 lads I knew to be Divided. Another van, much the same as the one we had arrived in, pulled up beside us as ours pulled away.

People who I assumed to be the other groups apeared out of the other vehicle, with a third and final van holding the filming crew and equipment. A man who seemed to be in charge strode over to us, and we all looked up from what we were doing to listen to him.

"Hello, guys! My name's Joey, and I'll be looking after you during your stay," he smiled warmly. Joey was a small, stocky man with short hair and a stubbly beard. Despite his height, he had a voice that made you listen to him, so he was obviously used to having authority over others.
