Double Act - Chapter 49

~~ Louis' P.O.V ~~

Christmas time. Everyone's happy, everyone's together, and it's a beautiful time of year. I loved christmas time. And not just because I had two lots of presents because of my birthday. The streets are filled with lights and last minute shoppers, people do things out of the kindness of their hearts and houses are filled with smiles and laughter. Well, most houses.

My house was filled with a few argumentative teenage boys trying to work out what their presents were. Call me scrooge, but it wasn't exactly what they call 'in the christmas spirit'.

"Is it.. a car?"

"No, Niall, it isn't a car,"

"A dog!"

"No! Why would I-"

"A HELICOPTER!"

"Niall!" I cried exasperated, picking up a bauble from a box along with a piece is thread and turning round to face him where he sat cross-legged on the sofa.

"How the hell would I fit a helicopter in to a box?! Or a dog, for that matter..." I frowned. "Or a car, actually!"

Niall pouted like a scorned child and fell back in to the sofa. "I was just making suggestions," he mumbled. His sadness was suddenly forgotten as the doorbell rang. "PIZZA!" he roared, leaping up and dashing from the room.

"You actually ordered Pizza?" Liam raised an eyebrow at the blonde as he returned to the room with a flat box eagerly clasped in his hands. "Niall, it's 5 days till christmas,"

Niall rolled his eyes and settled himself back on the sofa. "I know that, guys!" he said, flipping up the lip and grabbing a piece. "That's why I asked for the christmas special!" he winked before taking a huge bite and munching away greedily. His chewing slowed and his eyes widened.

"What's it like?" Harry asked from by the fireplace.

Niall suddenly chucked the pizza to one side and careered in to the bathroom.

I shook my head. "I'm guessing not good,"

Harry chuckled and got up from his lounged position by the fire. "Have you got any mince pies, Louis?" he asked, adjusting his hair carefully and straightening out his Christmas jumper.

I laughed and nodded. "Yeah, course. In the kitchen,"

"Love you!" he cried before disappearing to eat the contents of my kitchen.

Liam glanced up as I sat down beside him on the couch. "When's Zayn arriving?"

"He said he was doing some shopping today, so he's gonna come in the next few days," I told him, checking my phone.

"Ah, good," Liam sighed, stretching his arms up to support his head. "Haven't seen him in a while, need to congratulate him on the whole wedding thing,"

I chuckled. "It's weird, isn't it?"

"How so?"

"I dunno," I shrugged, tying the piece of thread around the loop of the bauble. "Just... Zayn getting married. It's hard to picture all of the lads finding girls dumb enough to marry them," I joked, grinned to myself.

Liam laughed at the comment. "I suppose it is. But don't you ever think about... getting married?"

I rolled my eyes and scoffed, standing from the sofa. "Yeah, and who am I gonna marry? Lara?" I laughed as I hung the bauble on the tree with the newly attached thread. My laughter faded as I realised Liam wasn't laughing with me. "What?"
