Words cant even form for me to deliver, I don't know if I'm beyond happy or angry, even sad.

Mixed emotions form in my mind, they are all trying to be dominate but it's too much for me to even decipher which one I am feeling currently.

The angry part of me is saying, it took a miscarriage for her to come and visit. . . barely.

My sad side is on the same path my angry part is on, it's a shame that my mother only will visit when tragic things happen, and my brother and father aren't even here.

My happy side is the only small part, I'm glad my mother visited me, it's been a while since she just visited me without anything formal.

"Hi sweetie." She says with that same voice she used to use when she greeted me home from school. It sends warmth throughout my cold body but also brings chills.

"Hi, what are you doing here?" I ask still in a complete frenzy that my mother is standing before me.

"Well, I said I would be here. I've gotta keep my word." She says walking closer to me and stunning me by surprise by hugging my fragile body.

I wrap my arms around her and breathe in the scent of her, it still smells like home when I was little. . . of course past the expensive perfume.

"They said that she can be released today, everything seems fine. They just prescribed her with pain medicine." Tobias deep voice says once we part away from our 'embrace'

"Well I came on time." She says with a chuckle making me give a faint smile.

"I'll start packing away the car, oh, and everyone wants to visit you today." Tobias says as he grabs multiple gift bags and balloons.

"That's fine, I just want to leave." I say and he smiles walking out of the door.

I slide down to the edge of the bed and cut the television off while my mom walks around the room.

She opens the lid up to the hospital tray and frowns at the prepared dish. I never ate their food, Tobias and the gang would eat with me but it would be soup or salads nothing heavy.

"You don't eat that stuff do you?" Mom says with pure disgust as she puts the lid back off and starts wiping her hands.

I shake my head no and start slowly collecting my phone and charger since I'm still weak and moving slowly.

"Well, your father told me to tell you hello and sorry he couldn't make it, Caleb also said hello and sorry he couldn't make it." She says and I look up at her, with confusion clouding my eyes.

"Your father has multiple meetings while Caleb has started a new job and couldn't risk missing a day." She says and I fight back the tears of anger.

Obviously their jobs are more important than me at the hospital.

"So what made you come out?" I ask as I start to stand up and she grabs my arm helping me up.

"What do you mean?" She asks with her eyebrows furrowed and I almost roll my eyes at her state of turmoil.

"I mean they're still working since that's more important, what made you really come out here?" I say, surprising my own self by using bold words to my mother.

"Tris, let's not argue-" She starts in a low voice, detecting the door is still open.

"I'm not arguing, I'm just asking a simple question. I mean, I asked you to come see me. . . I'm glad you did but, I know you mom. Over the phone it sounded like you wouldn't make it-" I say in a calm voice, even though my words want to come out more like venom.

"It's just, that I needed to see you." She says running her hand down my face.

"What's the catch?" I ask, crossing my arms.

"There is no-" Mom starts once again but Tobias walks back into the room grabbing more things.

"This is the last of it." Tobias mutters noticing the tension in the room.

"I'm ready." I say standing up and we make our way to the car, slowly.

+++

"This is nice." Mom says as we enter our apartment and walks towards the window.

"Beautiful view." She adds as her fingers skim over the black and silver blinds.

"I'm going to put this stuff up." Tobias says as he leaves and goes to the back and our dogs run up here and my mother shrieks.

"You have dogs?" She says as I sit down on the couch, I nod my head at her surprised gesture.

"Yeah, they aren't anything else." I say with a small chuckle as I pat Hercules' head.

"So, where are you staying?" I ask as Tobias walks into the room leaning against the hallway frame.

"Well, I don't have a car since, Four, here picked me up and of course I flew. Do you mind if I stay here, if you have room?"

Yes.

"No, it's fine. We have a guest room." Tobias says and I sigh.

My mother here for who knows how long. . . A disaster just waiting to happen.
