"Hey Tris, I know I've been here at the compound for a while and it's safe for me to say that we have a good relationship. Would you like to go out for lunch some time next week?" Erin slides beside me as I lean against the wooden, countertop looking over some reports.

"Sure," I give him a small smile, "It depends though."

"Cool." He nods his head at me and let's out a sigh. I give him a smile as he walks away and goes to his section. I shiver and rub my cold hands up and down my fleece sweater.

It's mid-December and its freezing here in Portland. The weather here is something I dislike, it's warm and rainy all spring and summer but freezing and raining in fall and winter. Don't even get me started on the snow.

Due to all of the sickness going around, we try to keep the air temperature cold to stop the spread of germs. I really don't want to catch something and get my family sick, not with us heading towards Chicago on Friday.

I've decided to visit my parents and they were glad to know that I am coming home. They must have plans to keep me, not with my whole family here in Portland.

"See you later, Tris. I hope you have a great time with you parents." Ashley waves at me as she shrugs on her jacket. I smile and wave at her, if only she knew.

"Thanks! See you soon!"

"Tris, don't you think this is a little too much?" Tobias questions looking at his two sons. They are both in a pair of flannels and thermals with big, coats. A hat, scarf, gloves, and boots.

"No, I don't want them catching a cold. It's below 5 at Chicago. It's already cold here, and those planes aren't the cleanest. We just got Matthew over a cold."

It's been two months since Jonah had his cold. So now, they are five months old. I wanted to wait as long as possible before I left the city of Portland because I didn't want them getting sick.

"Whatever you say." Tobias mumbles and walks away, "The car is already packed, Zeus and Hercules are at the dog daycare, and the plan should arrive in an hour. Let's go!" Tobias says and grabs one of the baby carriers. I sling the bag over my shoulder as Tobias grabs the other one and I look around to make sure we have everything before we leave.

I rock Jonah's carrier with my foot as I scroll through my phone reading the daily news. All of our friend wished us a goodbye with childcare and a paid for dinner with Tobias.

My nerves are all over the place as I think about my family. I want to see them desperately but at the same time I feel like I shouldn't have to make the first move.

"Flight 25G now boarding first class passengers to a one way trip to Chicago, Illinois." The dreary lady speaks through the microphone and everyone for first class gets up and boards the plane. I would love to have a first class seat.

But, with the kids here now we are paying double for everything. All we need is enough to get there, that would waste unnecessary money. Finally they call us to the plane and we get up and go through security again. We finally get on the plane, and luckily, we take up a whole row.

Tobias sits on the outside with the kids carrier in the middle and I sit at the window seat. I feel bad for not being able to hold Tobias' hand and make him forget about his fear of heights.

It's all a working process.

"Tris," Tobias shakes my shoulder and I peel open my eyes. Everyone is getting off the plane and he has Jonah in his arms who is wide-awake. "They're unloading, love." He says and I sit up. I was in the middle of breast-feeding Matthew and after that it's all fuzzy.

I look down to see him asleep, I fix my shirt and sit up only for Matthew to stir. He fusses a little bit but calms down easily. Tobias grabs one of the carriers and I grab the other one. We both get off the plane with little difficulty but we make it.

Tobias puts Jonah in the carrier who instantly starts crying out of his fathers arms. We get a trolley and go get out bags and leave. We flag down a cab and head towards our hotel.

I'm so exhausted, and I know the kids have to be. We get to our room and I undress the kids and give them a bath while Tobias sets up the portable crib. I dry them off and put lotion on them, Tobias helps me feed them both and get them in bed.

Now, it's Tobias and I's time. We both get in the shower and I sigh, placing my head on his wet, chest. "Tomorrow, we go to your parents." He reminds me.

With a little sigh, I nod my head. "I know, I have so many mixed emotions." I turn around for him to wash my back, "I'm just ready for bed." I yawn and rinse off.

"Me too, me too." Tobias presses a kiss to my head and we both get dressed. I put on one of Tobias' t-shirts and get under the unfamiliar covers once we spray it with disinfection spray.

"Good night, Tris." Tobias kisses me.

"Good night, Tobias." I smile and fall asleep.
