~Y/n POV~
Me and Max both watched as the Squad gathered all the equipment they could to put in the back of what Murray called "Santa's sleigh." Weapons, guns, and anything they could scrounge up were tossed into the back as everyone made sure they had everything they needed.
When it was time for them to go, they all hugged me, Max, and Vickie, who sadly had to stay back. It was honestly angering how I couldn't move anything. Being forced to sit there while everyone else risked their lives made me feel completely useless.
"Stay safe," Will whispered gently, kissing the top of my head before walking over to the van.
"You too!" I called back, watching the van drive off.
Currently, we were both in the main room, doing nothing but sitting in our wheelchairs. The silence lingered until the lights suddenly flickered, causing Vickie to panic.
"H-hey, uh, Robin, yeah. Can you please tell me that that was you guys and not more of those, like, mutant Cujos?" she asked into the walkie.
"It's us, and it's too early to be stressed, Vic. Save it for later." We heard Robin say back.
"Yeah, no, copy that, yeah. No. Bottling... bottling emotions." Vickie said back, her hand shaking as she walked back to her seat.
"Hey, relax. They've got this," I said to her.
"Y-yeah, I know." She said shakily, giving me a slight smile before looking back down at her hands.

It had been a good thirty to forty minutes since we had last heard back from them, and Vickie was pacing now.
"Okay, what the hell is taking them so long?" she said, continuing to walk back and forth across the room, arms folded tightly before throwing them back out again in frustration.
"I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it's a 500-foot tower," Max replied to her, trying to sound calmer than she looked.
"If something's wrong, they'll contact us," I added, watching Vickie continue to pace. She had already worn a path across the floor, and judging by the way she kept glancing toward the doors, sitting still clearly wasn't an option anymore.
"Yeah, no, yeah. I mean, unless they're already dead." She suddenly turned around, looking at us while gesturing wildly with her hands. "Okay, uh, stress gives me the munchies, so I, um..."
I could see Max raise an eyebrow at her. Vickie took a slow breath, clearly trying to calm herself before speaking again.
"Do you want something?" she asked.
"No," Max responded, and I shook my head as I watched Vickie walk past us toward the other room.
Max then suddenly began, "Actually, can I get, uh—" She cut herself off mid-sentence.
I looked over, only to realize Vickie was gone.
"Vickie?" Max asked.
"Vickie?" she called again.
My eyes widened as I watched Max instinctively reach down to the wheels of her wheelchair, preparing to turn herself toward the hallway.
She suddenly stopped.
Slowly, she lifted both of her hands into the air.
Seeing her do that, I cautiously began lifting mine as well.
Deciding to test my legs, I carefully slid them off the leg rests of my wheelchair, my feet meeting the floor beneath me. Max did the same, both of us staring at each other in complete disbelief.
