*typa face Nancy was pulling in that spider scene^^^*

~Y/n POV~

I watched as we pulled up to the Creel house, it looking as old and abandoned as ever. Boards were nailed over the windows and doors, the place practically rotting in on itself.

We all made our way up the cracked pathway toward the very old, beat-up, terrifying-looking house. Every step felt heavier the closer we got.

"Yeah, that's not creepy," Steve sighed.

We reached the base of the stairs, their wood warped with age. Nancy and Steve moved ahead, prying the nails off the boarded-up door with effort and frustration.

"I mean, what exactly are we supposed to be looking for in this shithole?" Steve asked.

"We're not sure. We just know this house is important to Vecna," Nancy sighed.

"Because Max and Y/n saw it in Vecna's red, soup mind world?" Steve asked again.

I fiddled with my pocket knife.

"Basically."

"Great," Steve sighed.

"Maybe it holds a clue to where Vecna is, why he's back, why he killed the Creels, and how to stop him before he comes back for the girls," Dustin added.

Max and I shared a look.

"We don't think he's in here, do we?" Lucas asked.

"Guess we'll have to find out," Max stated.

I noticed her headphones resting around her neck, so I did the same, letting them hang there like a quiet safety net.

"Ready?" Steve asked as he and Nancy prepared to break the wood down.

"Mmhmm," Nancy nodded.

A thick plank of wood crashed to the floor, and we all quickly moved out of the way.

The stained glass window with roses was revealed.

Me and max froze slightly, fear mirrored on both our faces as flashes of our past experiences came rushing back.

"It's locked," Steve sighed, rattling the door handle.

"Should I knock, see if anybody's home?" he joked.

"No need," Robin stated, holding up a brick. "I found a key."

We all backed away from the door as she hurled the brick straight into the stained-glass window.

A rush of feelings hit me all at once, relief that I didn't have to look at it anymore, discomfort at seeing something so beautiful destroyed, and fear over what waited for us inside.

Steve reached his hand through the shattered glass, found the doorknob, and pulled the door open.

We all walked in.

"Looks like someone forgot to pay their electric bill," Lucas stated sarcastically as Steve shut the door behind us.

One by one, we flicked on our flashlights. I looked around, memories of that dream I had coming in. His voice haunting me. Suddenly Steve spoke.

"Where'd everyone get those?" Steve asked.

"Do you need to be told everything? You're not a child," Dustin spoke. I smiled slightly.

"Thank you," Steve nodded sarcastically.

Dustin hummed and nodded, grabbing his backpack and handing it to Steve.

"Back pocket," he said before walking away.

Steve stared after him in disbelief while grabbing the flashlight, turning it on, and dropping Dustin's bag onto the floor.
