"Gin? Gin-bear? I know you're upset, all the girls in the dorm heard you. I heard you." Parvati's anxious face bobbed into view, peeking around her privacy curtains surrounding her bed. Parvati waited, knowing better than to push Ginny. She waited patiently. Seemingly oblivious to the Hogwarts bell (signifying the start of First period lessons) Parvati closed her eyes and exhaled slowly. She knew this Ginny. When Ginny was upset/mardy/angry/in a general bad mood, she'd escape into her mind (well.. her bed) and hibernate. But Parvati wasn't most patient girl in the world for nothing. She sat on the edge of Ginny's bed.
Flinching slightly at the feel of her mattress go down an inch, Ginny buried her head under her homemade-Weasley pillow. It reeked of baking, flowers and brooms. Home.
"Gin." Parvati said. It wasn't a question, it was a statement.
"What have I done, 'Varti?!" Ginny suddely bawled. Parvati shushed her, climbing into Ginny's bed and holding her tight.
"'Varti, what can I do? I can't stop thinking about the arrogant jerk and he's not even interested!"
Frowning slightly at the mention of the "arrogant jerk", Parvati settled on making Ginny laugh before finding out who this fella is.
"Don't be so hard on Neville, I know he's a jerk but still," Ginny snorted and covered her mouth as she squealed.
"Neville?! If only it were that simple."
"Well, it can't be that difficult," Partati coaxed gently, "just let this arrogant jerk know that you want him!"
Ginny's breathing slowed as she considered her best friend's words. But this isn't any old guy she has a crush on. This is Draco fucking Malfoy. She considered telling Parvati who she was crying (Ginny Weasley crying over Draco Malfoy... who'd have thought) over, but decided that she was going to keep his secret. Well, it was her secret too. If his family found out he'd slept with a Weasely, he'd be dead before you could say Avada Kedavra. Also, just a wild guess, his parents wouldn't hesitate to kill Ginny too. If her family found out she'd slept with a Malfoy, not only would her six brothers beat the Knuts off Draco, she would'nt be suprised if her parents disowned her. After all, they are arch enemies.
Arch enemies. How dramatic.
"What are you laughing at?" Parvati smiled, relieved to see a grin on Ginny's freckled face. The red-head shook her head dismissively and stood.
Not only had they slept with eachother, but they'd talked. Not like "hiya, how ya doing?" talking, but intense, deep-secret-spilling talking. Frankly, it frightened her how much she could have told him while drunk, but decided that if she could barely remember anything (other than heated flashbacks), neither can he. In addition, they'd been owling eachother for the past four months. Granted, the replies have been spaced out, but it is incredibly difficult for Ginny to rush to the owlery to send a forbidden letter without anyone knowing, and she imagined it were difficult for him too. She'd seen a side of him she thought didn't exist, and that excited her. She didn't care that he was her rival. She didn't care that his father almost killed her. She didn't care that she could possibly be disowned by the end of this mess. She didn't give a Karp's red ass.
"You're right, ma meillure copain," Ginny began. Parvati rolled her eyes at Ginny's French; after taking a muggle course in the language, Ginny had a tendency to switch between the two languages: English and French.
"As usual." was her short reply. Laughing, Ginny swung her bag up, ran some fingers though her lion's mane, and took Parvati's hand, pulling her up. What the Hell would I do without this girl? she thought before kissing Parvati on the cheek.
"Come on, if I'm gonna tell this jerk I want him, I better do it in potions."
