The entire stadium was silent.
Silent in shock? Anger? Fear? Disbelief?
All eyes were on the Slytherin Seeker, cradling the body of the Gryffindor chaser in the middle of the Quidditch pitch.
But the two students didn't care. They didn't even notice.
Draco stared at Ginny desperately, as if he wanted to drink in her appearance and commit it to his memory. Ginny's fingertips were clenched so tightly around Draco's neck that her nails were cutting into his skin. She couldn't keep her eyes from his, it was almost as if they were frozen in position. The man who she gave her heart to.
The man who saved her life.
Slowly, rumbles of mutters and murmurs rose until the stands were alive with shouts and screams.
"Is she okay?"
"WHAT HAPPENED UP THERE?!"
"Who caught her?!"
"Is that MALFOY?"
"OI MALFOY!"
"Ginny! Are you okay!"
"Malfoy saved her!"
"Malfoy!"
"Is that MALFOY!"
"Why aren't they moving??"
But they couldn't move.
In that moment, in their bubble, they were completely alone. There was only Draco and Ginny, in each other's arms. At home.
Suddenly, a stretcher appeared magically beneath Ginny as she was snatched out Draco's hands. Bundles of burgundy carried Ginny away, as ganders of green dragged Draco in the opposite direction.
Draco and Ginny's hands tore away from each other, but they never broke contact.
"Draco," Ginny whispered, before her outstretched hand was pushed down, and everything went black.
