"Shake, boys. Shake, not squeeze! Boys!" Madame Hooch's disapproving tone heightened as she attempted to break the death-lock that was Draco's and Harry's "handshake". Shaking her head, she bent her head to blow her whistle. "A clean match, if that isn't too much to ask." she said. And the sound of the whistle was lost in the sound of fourteen brooms flying up into the air.
"And they're off!" cried the enthusiastic commentator. "Gry beater Sacrese immediately hits Sly beater Robsin in the face with the Bludger- ouch- and Gry chaser Weasley has the Quaffle as usual, and TEN POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR! -Quaffle in Sly chaser Roman's hands, she strikes, and BLOCKED BY FELIX! Quaffle to Weasley, to Henry, to Weasley, to Jacobry, to Weasley- ANOTHER TEN POINTS TO GRYFFINDOOR! Gry beater Johnessa narrowly avoids the Bludger, Quaffle back with Slytherin..."
Speeding through the air, Ginny's body was a flash of red as she seized the Quaffle. Hearing the blood rush through her ears, Ginny spun, feinting a throw. She laughed aloud when she heard the Slytherin chaser tailing her growl in annoyance. Showing off, she did a backflip before scoring again, receiving a huge applause from the Gryffindor stands.
Suddenly, cheers erupted from the Slytherin stands, drowning out the Gryffindors. Knowing that Slytherin hadn't scored, Ginny followed a Slytherin beater's sight and caught Draco Malfoy, outdoing her flip with a series of tricks her mother would faint at. She smirked as she caught his eye.
So this is how it's gonna be.
Quickly, the game escalated. The match wasn't about the scores, anymore than it was seeing which neat trick the Slytherin Seeker or Gryffindor Chaser would do next. Ginny even caught Harry cheering at one of her stunts, where she flipped upside down multiple times like she was stuck in a horizontal twister.
After Draco had jumped from his broom into mid air (receiving a collective gasp from the audience) and Summoning his broom a second before he hit the ground, Ginny knew who had won.
Sending him a mock salute, the audience laughed and the game continued.
The Gryffindor chasers scored thirteen more times before Draco caught the snitch.
The Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff stands erupted when they realised that Gryffindor had won.
It was in the middle of cheering in the air when she felt a sudden tightening in her stomach.
It was only one person who noticed her suddenly fold in pain over her broom.
It was every mouth in the stadium that gasped or screamed as they watched her limp body fall through the air in slow motion, gaining speed as she was closer to the ground.
It was every pair of eyes in the stadium that widened in shock as they watched a Quidditch player fly through the air, catching Ginny before she hit the ground.
***
Gasping, Ginny awoke on the grass and looked up, into the blue-grey eyes of a shaking Seeker.
