love you, don't hate me x
Luke groans, "I fail to see wy you would want to go to the gym."
"You were complaining about your next match!" Belle protests, patting his bicep, "I don't wanna hold you back."
"I was perfectly happy, and warm," he complains, pouting and dragging his feet.
She giggles and leans into him, her chilly nose pressed to his bare arm, "Well, I want to be a proactive girlfriend."
Luke wraps his arm around her waist, a smirk playing on his lips, "You could be proactive in some other ways and I'd be just fine."
"Huh?"
"Nothing," he murmurs as he opens the door to the gym.
Inside at the front desk is Julie, and all her athletic perfection. She smiles as soon as she sees Luke, holding out a towel from under the counter. He takes it and nods, thanking her in silence. As they walk towards the weight room, Belle notices Julie staring down Luke's backside.
"She should be an examiner," she grumbles, crossing her arms, "she'd never miss a thing."
"What?" Luke asks, a snort following his words. He hands her the towel, winking, "For my assistant."
Julie giggles, "That's so cute Luke, asking a freshman from school to come help you with your work out stuff. Planning to go pro, Luke?" She scrunches her nose in an adorable way that makes Belle jealous.
"Uh, no," Luke turns to look at Belle with a quirked eyebrow, "this is my girlfriend."
Her face goes cold, eyebrows no longer raised in a friendly way, "Oh. She's a bit young, isn't she?"
Belle is looking at a couple of magazines and pamphlets off to the side on a stand, and Julie is whispering, but she can still hear. Belle turns and tries to put on her hardest, meanest expression, with her eyes narrowed and her nose scrunched slightly, "Excuse me, but I am standing right here."
Julie swallows, leaning away from Luke, "I-I'm sorry."
Belle nods her head once and crosses her arms over her chest, huffing as she turns to walk over to the punching bag. Luke follows her after a moment of stunned silence, reaching behind and grasping her elbow, "Wow, Sunshine. I-I've never seen..."
"I just don't get it!" she snaps, throwing her hands up in the air. Her eyes shift to the punching bag, "I don't get why people think it's so weird that we're together. You're only two years older than me, and we're in the same stupid grade! They act like I'm dating my professor!"
Luke chuckles under his breath, shaking his head as his eyes crinkle at the sides, "I don't quite understand it either, bug," he pulls her close and presses a kiss to her temple, "but I do think your feistiness is kind of a turn on."
Her brow furrows, fist melting at her side, "Turn on? Like a lamp?"
He gulps before bursting out laughing with a hand on his stomach. "No, Sunshine! A turn on is well, um—when a person likes something a lot about someone else and it makes them want to, uh, um—"
