sorry for the scare with the previous little author's note. i'm going to rant for just a moment, don't read if you don't want to. SO: i know i'm a terrible updater, and i'm sorry for that. blame school and work and my life lol, and my parents don't let me spend much time on the computer unless its SCHOOL, so there's that. but also, i'm sorry for being really needy. as a writer who doesn't feel like she's any good at what she does, i tend to look outwardly for my acceptance and i depend on other people to tell me i'm good because otherwise i don't really believe it. that's why i always ask for comments/reviews and votes because it tells me what i'm doing is pleasing, i suppose.

so, i'm sorry, and this story won't be going anywhere soon :)

HAPPY READING [i think you'll like this part]

8:37 a.m.

"Hey Sunshine," Luke grins, walking up to where she's grabbing her things from her trunk. He intercepts her, grabbing up her bag and putting it onto his shoulder. "Hi," she answers, watching as he closes the trunk and then reaches towards her, grasping her elbow. He grins before kissing Belle's cheek. He smells good, like aftershave and toothpaste, possibly like shampoo too. She reaches up to tousle her fingers through his hair to see, and sure enough, it's still damp.

"Is it weird for me to admit that I thought I dreamt up yesterday?" she asks him as he slides his arm down to rest at the middle of her back. Luke's eyebrows furrow and he begins walking them towards the school, "How's that?" She shrugs, "I-I mean, yesterday was so lovely after having been in what felt like an eternal argument, and I just thought I was too mentally involved and I dreamt up you asking me out...You did ask me out right?!" Her face falls as if she's in the most embarrassing situation possible, face going white and eyes widening. He chuckles, reaching over to take her hand in his, "Yes, I did."

Belle smiles at her feet, a bashful blush creeping up her neck, "Good."

Luke squeezes her palm before opening the door to the building and letting her go in first. His hands are so big and warm, she's not sure she'll ever be over how secure she feels while he's holding onto her hand. It's a beautiful day, sunshine pouring down like rain and wind gently breezing around the school courtyard, pulling her hair up at the tips. The air is warmer than usual for November, but it allowed her to be able to wear capris and a t-shirt instead of sweaters and pants.

As they walk to her locker with his arm around her and her head leant onto his shoulder, Belle notices that all the eyes are on the two of them and it's really...weird. It feels creepy, why would people be staring? People break up, hook up, get together all the time.

"Belly Boo!" Mel squeals from a side hallway, rushing forward to ambush her in a hug. "Hi, darling," she grins, and as she hugs her, Belle sees that behind her is the cheerleading captains, Wesley, and a few other 'friends' she's made over the years. "Hey Melody," Belle says awkwardly, forcing the words to come out.

Luke's hand squeezes her hip in questioning and she nods her head, silently saying 'It's okay'. Melody wiggles her fingers, eyes widening when she finally sees Luke's protective hold attaching him to her so amorously, "Wow. Didn't see that one coming."

"What's that?" Belle questions as she opens her locker.

Mel snickers, "That Luke would actually go for you. You must be hard up, Luke Hemmings, going after our little Virgin Mary here."
