Her dark shadow followed her away from the brightness of the flames. She stopped at the gates, looking back.

It had happened again.

She had meant to stop it, to find what was happening & stop it. She'd failed again. Her eyes reflected the burning school with a mixture of fear, determination and anger. It was them again....causing destruction wherever they went; Havoc, chaos, death and destruction.

Why couldn't they just leave earth alone?! Why couldn't they have just left her alone? A distant siren of a fire engine made her jump and she climbed quickly over the low locked gate, the police would be following shortly. She removed her sleek black gloves, and produced a black coat from the bag she carried. She shrugged it on with a sigh, her breath billowing out in a short puff of misty smoke in the cold air. She licked her lips nervously with one last glance over her shoulder at the burning school.

"Whatever you are, I'll get you next time...." She whispered boldly in her soft light welsh accent, though her statement sounded more unsure than brave. Then she turned and walked away down the street, disappearing into a lane that led to a large park.

The worn looking blue door of the Tardis opened and A tall messy haired figure stepped out. The sky was clear and the air felt fresh and light. The 10th doctor stood looking out at trees and Grass; he almost would have guessed he was in the wilds of medieval Britain, until he heard the not so distant rumble of cars. He sighed, sauntering toward a bench, being alone again was taking it's toll. It had been almost a month since Donna had....well,since he had to say goodbye. He picked up the slightly wet copy of a newspaper 'The Metro' that was haphazardly strewn across the bench and sat down to read it.

'Police say no leads as 3rd school set ablaze'

The bold lettering of the headline was smudged slightly but still eye catching enough for a spark of curiosity to rise in him. He took out his glasses and studied the story quickly. School buildings that ended up mysteriously aflame, an odd virus spread right through the schools computers systems, unexplained power shortages, A possible Haunting.....He raised an eyebrow as he read. He mulled over the possibilities for a moment.

Should he?

He glanced over at a crowd of school children on their way to school.

Ahh Why not?

He stood up, stretched a little and headed off after them. The thought of something afoot put a little bounce in his step.

A short, slim young woman sipped at her coffee, balancing her notes on her lap as she read and drank. She was lost in thought as her glasses slipped down her nose, she still wasn't used to wearing them but she took precautions to make sure no-one or no-thing recognised her.

She hadn't a clue what was happening and in all the 3 schools she had visited, she had missed some vital clue, some occurrence, some pattern....what was it? She thumbed through the notes she had made from her previous investigations trying to find something new, something she might have-

."Miss Bronte! "

she jumped at the sudden noise, her coffee spilt and her notes went flying as she leaped up in a vain attempt to avoid being burnt by the coffee through her black trousers.

"damn!" she uttered

"Language, miss Bronte." A short balding man stood in the doorway adjusting his tie as he spoke "I know it is short notice but there is an inspection today, due to all the recent.....tragedies and I would appreciate it if you kept your class under control today! Before you loose your job; again."
