“So the Tardis can go anywhere?” asked The Doctors new companion as she smiled at him from the other side of the console.

“Anywhere, Anyplace, Anytime!” replied the Doctor giving the hub a proud pat.

“It’s Amazing, absolutely amazing!” she turned around, taking in the interior. Her green-brown eyes almost as wide as the smile that spread sweetly across her face as she gave a small laugh tilting her head back to gaze at the high ceiling her slightly curly brown hair falling down her back.

“So, Kitty Welsh….where too?” The Doctor broke her excited thoughts and she spun back round to face him still smiling. He liked the sound of her name, it was new, different and easily said-the kind of name that just rolled out with just that bit of mystery. He only knew her as Kitty-no real first name or social identity-Just Miss Kitty Welsh. Plain and simple-well not plain, she wasn’t plain-she wasn’t simple either. Far from it. Well in short she was nice. Nice, clever and mysterious…..

“Where too?” she repeated “ANYWHERE! Space!-The moon! No-I bet everyone asks to go the boring old moon….” She furrowed her brow for a moment as she thought about her request. The Doctor raised his own eyebrows in amusement.

“Oh I’ve got it-I’ve got it! We should go to……” She exclaimed enthusiastically

The Doctor waited enjoying all her excitement

“…..1851!”

“1851?-that’s specific.” The Doctor was a little thrown by such a request-He’d never been asked to go to a specific date before but then again he’d never quite met anyone like her before.

“Is specific bad?” she asked shrugging her shoulders.

“1851 it is then!” The Doctor began pressing and pulling buttons as Kitty watched intently, eager to know how time travelling was done.

"Doctor-" she said her tone suddenyl serious and cautious

"Hmm>"

"It's just a...side-trip though, right?  A slight deviation.....a quick trip then we'll go and find them, right?"

He paused and looked up at her leaning forward-a look of concern on her face. No, she wasn't any ordinary passenger along for the adventures to be had whilst flying through time and space. Visiting here and there-she had a purpose.A reason to want to be here in the Tardis, a need to be travelling with him that wasn't just simple curiosity. It made him look at her with a mixture of Pride, sadness and a pang of worry. He would do all he could to help her find her family.... "Sure! One stop and then we'll start-Why 1851?”

why 1851! Oh come on Doctor-“ she laughed “you’re the time lord!”

The Doctor thought for a moment –what happened in 1851? It wasn’t exactly a year that stood out to him….

“The Crystal palace!” Kitty exclaimed

“Oh! The great exhibition of 1851! You know, I never visited the original crystal palace…”

“First time for everything!” she smiled “I’ve always wanted to see it-I can’t believe I have the chance!”

“Then the crystal palace it is!” exclaimed the doctor flicking a large switch to put the Tardis in the right direction.

“What do you wear in Victorian England?” She asked after a few moments looking down at her  black skinny jeans, canvas trainers and over sized jumper with 'Dork' written across it that hung off her shoulder a little revealing the straps of the vest she wore underneath.
