"And where have you been!?" Kitty mouthed angrily at the Doctor as she was wrestled onto the altar.

"Uh.." The Doctor rose his eyebrows and shrugged. Kitty didn't exactly wear the relieved look he almost expected her to have.

"So, my followers, my friends, my sisters and brothers we are gathered here today to bring into our congregation more of our lost ones. We welcome them back with open arms and offer them these vessels to carry them-"

"Vessels!? Woah now! wait a moment!!" Kitty blurted out  as she tried to wrestle free again.

Father McClellan snapped his head toward her, misty eyes glowering at her threateningly. "Quiet." he growled.

"what exactly is this baptism? 'Cos this doesn't sound like one to me!" She pressed.

"I said be quiet!" Father McClellan stepped forward, towering over her menacingly.

"You know you really don't give off the the whole peace and love vibe I'd expect from a preist."

"Are you trying to push me, girl?"

"Woman actually, I may be lacking height but I'm still pretty feisty."

"You bore me." growled the priest as he turned away sharply

"WAIT!...just a suggestion but..maybe you'd, you know, better hear my...err... confessions before I'm 'baptised'-you know for purities sake.."

"Your sins are of no concern of mine, little girl."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Pretty sure" He marched  back up to her and stood over her again threateningly. "Now, for the last time I'm going to ask you nicely-shut up."

"Alright, alright.." Kitty mumbled, stepping back. Waiting for him to turn around again before she interjected "But-"

He grabbed her chin roughly and lent into her, "You, girl without a place, are rather insufferable. Now, be quiet before I decide a sacrifice would be better for us all."

"Killing? I thought the Psyvorex were a peaceful species?" The Doctor spoke up, he had an inkling that Kitty had purposely attempted to irritate the preist. The congregation shifted and a hushed mumbling of mushed together voices hummed in the back of his mind, he was subconsciously picking up on their mute conversations. Thier silent concerns....

"SILENCE!" Father McClellan shouted. his voice echoing in the small church. "Enough." His misty eyes  appeared to scan the congregation, taking them all in. "Needs must, Doctor. We must survive. You all know that, you have all agreed to do what we have to do! We are the superior species here-given a new lease of life-of hope for our future." He pointed to the Doctor sharply "This, This, charletan would have you believe that we do not exist-that we have faded in to nothing. Everything we are, all our knowledge, all our wisdom, all our history-gone! We may have been chased from our home, hunted like vermin but we stand here NOW with the ability to adapt. I ask you, again, my brothers and sisters do we aceot this gift of the universe of these new bodies on this new home?" slowly a quiet applause broke out among the congregation and some began to rise, standing up to yell thier agreement. Father McClellan grabbed a small fair haired girl who stood just behind Kitty, pulling her forward by her robe. "Look at this-a human child! What future would it have if we left it to it's own? These humans respect nothing they have. They don't know how. They know nothing of a world without war-without fear or hate. Search your humans mind and see-we are saving them from themselves whilst saving ourselves. The strong replace the weak-lead them. Who follows me?"

The entire congregation stood now; cheering, clapping and praising.

"Then shall we welcome back some old friends?" Cried the priest, opening his arms out as if to recieve the embrace of the cry of agreement that swiftly followed. "Then, lets begin! but first-" The preist gaze fell on the Doctor coldly "Tie up our proud witness."

"This is insane!" The doctor shouted as hundreds of icy pairs of hands grappled with him, pulling him and tugging at him as they forced him into a seat and wound thick golden rope around him.

"The only insanity here is you-lonely man." The Preist hopped down from the raised altar and bent down in front of the Doctor. "Tell me-if you had a choice-them or your people, your shining golden home-what would you choose?"

"I already made my choice."

"And it haunts you Doctor-I can feel it in your mind."  Father McClellans jaw dropped open as if on a loose hinge, revealing an unravelling mass of clear strangey solid liquid serpants that lashed out. The Doctor turned his head away and grimaced as he felt the sharp force of the psychic attack as the priest forced in to his mind. "So many people Doctor....so many faces..."

"Stop it." The Doctor winced as he could feel Ftaher McClellan pulling at his meories, bringing the flashes of faces and places to the front of his mind.

Donna, Martha, Rose, Mickey, Jack, Shakespeare, Madam de pompadour- ooh that kiss- , The Master, Romanadvoratrelundar, members of the high council....

"Stop!" The Doctor half shouted as he tried to resist what he knew was coming.

The fires exploded in front of his eyes, as if he were there all over again. The Golden buildings crumbing as the whole world fell apart.....

No. He couldn't. He wouldn't see it again.

Father McClellan stumbled backwards as The Doctor sat there, his dark brown eyes burning with pain and anger. His chest heaving as his two hearts broke all over again. He swallowed down the pain and guilt as he regaurded the priest who clicked his fingers as he steadied himself.

"Bring his little pet-enough of these pointless games. "

Kitty was pushed violently towards the font, the water inside it rippled and bubbled, suddenly coming to life. Twirling and swirling upwards to form a tall thin snake. Maggie let out an ear peircing screech of fear as Kitty looked up as it towered over her, towering over her like a cobra, made of water, swaying side to side. A mouth split open in the middle of the shape that looked like an eyeless snakes head, yawning open as if it had awakened from a slumber.

"Holy he-" Her blasphemy was cut short by a familuar sound.

The wheezing, groaning sound of the TARDIS cut through the hush, followed by a metallic clunk as the blue box materalised in the middle of the aisle.

"Hu-ho Yes!" The Doctor exclaimed, suddenly back in his element with his trusty time machiene by his side as he took the opportunity to slip off the rope from his wrists and hop to the front with a wide grin. Even the watery psyvorex had it's eyeless head turned towards the scene. "How did you do that?" He asked his poor damaged blue box. As if in answer the door flung open, smacking the approaching man with the meat cleaver in the face, knocking him backwards, and out stepped an old man.

The Doctor blinked in surprise "You?"
