"Now!?" Darren exclaimed his brow knitting together "You're being ridiculous! We didn't risk our freedom just to pack up and leave when things are getting to us."

"It's more than just our freedom at risk!" Marie countered in a low voice.

"Keep it up Marie! You're doing a great Job of keeping the morale high." Darren sneered.

"What if she's right?" Voiced the tall bespectacled man called West. "What if-"

"There is nothing, nothing but us on this godforsaken rock." Darren interrupted

"And us." The Doctor reminded him with a grin.

Darren shot him a glare before calmly asking Dr Asper "Do have any idea where Marcus is?"

Dr Asper seemed to struggle for a moment, either she was hesitating or trying to remember before quietly she answered "No." Turning back to her Son. "It's going to be okay Finn-I promise."

"He's been out there far too long now...the suits can only do so much-" The redheaded woman spoke up- her voice wavering slightly.

"Suit up-ALL of you. We'll go look for him." Darren declared shouldering past the Doctor and growling "That means you too. I'm going to keep a very close eye on you."

For a second Kitty thought the Doctor would say something back but instead he gave a firm nod, sighing as he turned back to her.

"Looks like we're going exploring..." Kitty tried to smile, putting too much enthusiasm into her voice. Her stomach full of butterflies and her palms a little sweaty.

"Stay close to me." The calm but assertive tone in the Doctors voice made her swallow as her smile faltered, her mouth suddenly drier than a desert.

She regained her composure, rolling her eyes at him. "Alright, alright."

"Kitty-I mean it."

She gave him a half smile "Are you...worried?" she asked, her tone teasing.

"Naah. Of course not!" He gave her a grin "Mildly concerned-a bit-maybe." He shoved his hands in his pockets, turning away, sniffing.

"Suits." The red head shyly approached them, carrying two sets of the white suits. "Make sure you drink at least a cup of water before we head out."

"Thank you." The Doctor smiled warmly, as he took his suit. "I'm the Doctor-I didn't catch your name?"

"Lyra." She squeaked back meekly. The freckles splashed over the bridge of her nose flowed in the sort of shape you'd expect to see in a distant galaxy. She had warm almost honey coloured brown eyes, a small straight nose and thin lips.

"Lyra-That's a constellation you know." The Doctor continued to smile.

"Yes, I know." she lowered her head, hugging herself. "I wanted to sell some platinum to finish my Doctorate in Galactic and Extra-Galactic Astronomy. I'm just a Geophysicist here though. "

The Doctor raised his eyebrows "Brilliant! Nothing 'just' about a Geophysicist-"

Another loud Cracking sound echoed high above them, interrupting their conversation. The rumble that followed seemed to shake the entire Moon. The Doctor grabbed Kitty's arm, steadying her as he braced himself. A distant hollow thud filled the pod and everything vibrated violently as a shuddering loud scraping, cracking noise replaced it.

Kitty gripped onto the Doctor, unintentionally burying her head in his side as her entire body shook with the powerful vibration, she could hear the clattering of equipment, falling rock and smashing glass as she squeezed her eyes shut. Everything stopped and silence closed in. She felt dizzy still, so remained where she was a wave of hot nausea passing through her.

The Doctor lightly touched her back "It's over."

"I know-I'm just..." She released her grip on his clothes letting out a shaky breath "Admiring the quality of the stitching on your Jacket." She raised her head, stepping back. Wincing internally.

"Is everyone Alright?" Darrens Voice boomed out as he reappeared, almost unrecognisable now, hidden in his suit. "Lyra-what the hell is going on up there!? Didn't you detect that?"

Lyra's mouth opened and closed but no sound came out. A deep blush to match her hair rising in her cheeks.

"You!" He pointed at the Doctor sharply "She has a job to do-stop distracting my crew! Why aren't you in suits?" He sighed angrily looking around "Lyra- check your equipment and suit up. Same goes for you two. We'll leave in 5 earth minutes."

Lyra quickly shrunk away, gathering bits of her equipment that had fallen as she went.

"Here- drink this." Finn appeared at Kitty's side, almost the same height. Only his head  sticking out of the obviously too big clumpy suit. He offered her a cup of water and gave one to the Doctor.

Gladly Kitty took the cup and drank. "Thanks." She smiled at the young boy.

"Best suit up quickly-Darren hates waiting."

Slowly Kitty slid herself into the suit. It felt kind of cold and slippery on the inside, causing goosebumps to rise on her skin where it touched her. With her small hands pushed into the Gloved arms as far as they would go she clenched her hand, noting how thick and stretchy the material felt. Kind of like, cold, wet rubber gloves.

As she pulled it over her shoulders she felt two small cylinders pressing against her back. An internal thermometer sat inside the chest. At the moment flashing green.

The Doctor came up to her.

He smiled down at his tiny companion as he slid the visor helmet over her head, locking into place with a slight hiss.

Kitty felt as though she had just stuck her head in an empty fish bowl. A bluish light illuminated her vision from above the visor. She could just about see the Doctor smiling down at her.

"Okay?" He asked- his voice sounding echoey and muffled.

She nodded, giving him, for some reason a thumbs up. The material of the suit hanging dismally off the edge of the thumb.

"You..." The Doctor cleared his throat "You can still speak you know."

"I-I know. I was just....adjusting."

The Doctor slid his own helmet on and pressing a lamp into her hand took her other reassuringly as they approached the entrance to the pod. The rest of the Crew pressing in on them as they shuffled toward it.

"Everybody ready?" Darren called from in front. He didn't wait for an answer. "Let's go."
