INGREDIENTS:
1 cup of basmati rice
2 large onions, chopped
1 bay leaf
2 cups of water
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of black pepper
2 teaspoons of oil, preferably olive oil
1 teaspoon of garlic ginger paste
1 teaspoon of garam masala
2 lemon wedges, to garnishMETHOD:
Get a pan and add oil, then add the onions till they brown real good, then add cumin seeds, bay leaf, garlic ginger paste and stir for 2 minutes.Add black pepper and stir then add the garam masala then stir, add the salt to the mixture and stir for 30secs
Add the water to mixture and stir, then add the rice and stir, cover with lid and leave to cook for 10 minutes.
Once ready, serve on a plate and garnish with the lemon wedges and fresh coriander.
