Third Person P.O.V.

As Star Butterfly got into the carriage, going to the Blood Moon Ball, a certain blacksmith was preparing for it as well, dressing a lot more formal than usual. As Marco straightened out his tie, he was questioning whether it was a good idea or not. He shook his head, removing any thoughts of doubt, grabbed his mask and went.

The princess arrived at the steps of Prince Tom's castle, grumbling softly. A voice suddenly broke Star's train of thoughts. "Star Butterfly.. You sure clean up a mess." A slightly masculine voice said. It was Prince Tom. Star's eyes widened at his appearance. Red hair, light red skin tone, but the most shocking trait that he had was his eyes.

He had a third eye, right at his forehead. "H-hi there.. You must be Tom.." She squeaked out. He smiled, showing his pointy teeth that Star did not like. "Yes I am princess. Oh yes, I have something for you." He shoved his hand inside his pocket, and got it out, grabbing a spider. Star gasped. "It's a thing.. for your hair. Here, i'll put it.." He tried to reach the spider into Star's hair, but she quickly dodged.

"Sorry Tom, I kinda have my own thing goin' in here, let's go have fun now, okay?" She said quickly, gesturing to her devil horns hairband. He grumbled. "Fine." He said reluctantly, and led Star to the ballroom. While there, some guests mingled with Star. "So you're Tom's date, huh?" A guest pointed to Star. Star raised an eyebrow. "I guess I am..?"

"Well, he made this party boring, all for you!" He screamed. He then ranted about how "lame" and "boring" the party was. Star slowly walked away, gulping. Another guest then appeared. "Hey there, wanna dance?" Tom suddenly stepped in, glaring at the guest. "Sorry, but her dance card's full." The guest seemed to glare daggers at Tom.

"So you think that her soul, and you soul, are gonna Mmm!" He mushed his hands together. The princess just raised her eyebrows in confusion. "What's, Mmm!" She imitated the guest's actions. Tom opened his mouth to try and answer, but the speaker's voice piped in. Everyone settled down, and the light dimmed as the speaker spoke.

As the speaker finished speaking, a piece of music played. "That's the wrong piece of music! Hold on Star, this is gonna drive me crazy.. Stay right there, I'll be right back!" Tom hissed. Unbeknownst to them both, Marco entered the ballroom, searching for the princess, constantly yelling, "Star!".

Star wandered around, bored of Tom's antics, and wondering who the lucky couple would be dancing there in the moonlight, their two souls bonded together. Her eyes widened and she gasped as she felt someone hold her hand and pull her to the stage. Unbeknownst to her, it was Marco. The music once again started, and they both shared a waltz.

Marco's and Star's hearts were pounding like drums. They slowly waltzed, then going in for a dip. "Star.." Marco slowly cooed. "How do you know my name.." She whispered dreamily. He grinned before twirling Star. "It's me, Marco!" Star widened her eyes. "Marco, what are you doing here?!" She was shocked at the same time.

"Let's get out of here, this place is the worst.." He whispered in her ear, before getting pushed away from the dance floor by a very, angry Tom. "That dance.. Was meant.. FOR ME!" He screamed, enraged. "Guards! Seize him!" King Butterfly''s voice emerged. The guards grabbed him and dragged him off before he could do anything else. Star nodded to her father, as a sign of thanks and that she wanted to go home, which her father read instantly. "Let's go Marco.." She sighed. Marco quickly followed, entering the carriage alongside her.

Star's parents reluctantly agreed to keep Marco in her room for a few hours. Star shut the door with a thud and went to the balcony, staring at the stars, Marco following her. It was a long, awkward silence. "I'm glad you came.." Star murmured. Marco smiled warmly at her. "It was nothing.." They slowly inched closer to each other, face inches apart, until. "STAR BUTTERFLY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
