Third Person's P.O.V.

It was a lazy Saturday, and Star was in Marco's room, her hair being played with and combed by Marco. Her tangled hair was being pulled by the comb, which made her wince.
"Hey, hey, Marco..! That hurts.." She whined. Marco rolled his eyes and put down the comb. "Well, maybe if you took care of your hair every once in a while, I wouldn't have to bring you here to comb your hair every week," He replied calmly, before getting the brush again and continuing his combing. A silence soon erupted between them, the two of them having nothing to say. It wasn't really an awkward silence really, the two were okay with just silence. They were content. The silence was soon broken by Star.

"Hey Marco.. I love you," She spoke softly, her voice a mere whisper. Marco seemed taken back, because he flinched and jumped back a bit, his pupils dilating. After a few seconds he regained his composure back and continued combing, his ears slightly red. "Geez, where'd that come from all of a sudden?" He mumbled, furrowing his eyebrows. Star just shrugged her shoulders, playing with her fingers.

"I don't know. Guess I just wanted to remind you," Marco rolled his eyes. He sighed. He knew that the love she was talking about wasn't romantic, but he interpreted it as that anyways. Star gazed at Marco's beanie on the ground, and out of curiosity, she picked it up. "Hey. Why do you always wear this thing anyway?" Marco's dull gaze went from her hair to the beanie. "Jackie gave it to me in preschool." He muttered before taking it from her and wearing it, looking down.

Star looked at Marco in concern. He always looked down. Especially once he was wearing that beanie. She rested her head on her hand, sitting cross-legged.

"You're looking down again."

Marco shot his head up, his usual dull and aloof gaze, turned into one of shock. He slowly turned back to his calm expression, his lips compressed to a straight line.

"What do you mean."

The blonde bit her cheek, frowning at the current state of her best friend. She stood up and grabbed the beanie from his head, making his dyed cinnamon hair messy. Marco looked up, gasping. "Hey!" Star just stuck her tongue at him and wore the beanie, making an impression of him. "Oh hey, I'm Marco, I always look down, I'm boring and uninteresting, blah, blah," Before the brunette could retort a comeback, Star took it off and sighed. "This beanie's too sad and depressing. I bet this thing's got a story, but hey, I won't ask." She threw the beanie back to Marco, sitting back down again. Marco looked at Star's hair, and ushered her to come closer.

"Ugh, your hair's messy again.. come here you," And so, he began combing once more. Once again like earlier, a silence came up, but instead of the usual calming silence, it was filled with awkwardness and tension. A few minutes passed, and Star put on her bow, thanking Marco for combing her hair. She stood up and went out, but before she closed the door, she stopped. She ran back to Marco and hugged him, Marco hugging back after a few seconds. He knew that she'd hug him every once in a while. "Sorry, Marco. I know the beanie means a lot to you. It's just really sad that you always seem so sad with it." She mumbled, which left Marco startled. But what surprised Marco the most was, right after they broke the hug, Star kissed his cheek. Marco widened his eyes, utterly speechless.

Star walked towards the door, and right before she closed it..

"Like I said earlier, I love you. But.. It's the I want to marry you type of I love you."
