A/N: PLAY TO THE MOON. I DARE YOU. YOU WILL EFFING CRY YOUR EFFING HEART OUT.

Star's P.O.V.

My last day on Earth. I watched Marco look at the sky, even he knew it was my last day. "Can I join you..?" I asked quietly. He looked at me, and I swear I saw tears by the corners of his eyes, although it could of been me just hallucinating. He nodded, smiling weakly at me. I sat down on the grass, looking at the night sky before me. I started humming a tune.

"Short steps. Deep breath. Everything is alright," I sighed, thinking about my departure in a few hours. He looked at me weirdly, before rolling his eyes playfully and letting me continue my song. "Chin up. I can't, step into the spotlight.." I mumbled. I couldn't interfere. I had to go back. That's why I was sent in the first place.
"She said, 'I'm sad,' somehow without any words." Marco piped in, referring to me. "I just, stood there," He continued, before letting me sing. "Searching for an answer.." I murmured, lifting my hand up, as if to touch the moon.

"When this world is no more, the moon is all we'll see. I'll ask you, to fly away with me." I sang, pouring all my heart out into that one tiny verse.
"Until the stars all fall down, they empty from the sky," Marco hummed, waiting for my next verse as a shooting star went falling. I looked at him, silently wishing he'd be here with me, even in Mewni. "But I don't mind, if you're here, with me, then everything's alright," I admitted, scooting just a tad bit closer to him.
"Why do, my words, always lose their meaning?" I ask painfully as I wince, remembering all the times back in Mewni where they misinterpret me as a bad princess. "What I feel, what I say, there's such a rift between them," Marco states, burying his face into his knees. "He said, 'I can't seem to read you,' I just stood there, never know what I should do." I quote, referring to Marco for all the times he may have not gotten me.

"When this world is no more, the moon is all we'll see. I'll ask you, to fly away with me." I sang once more.
"Until the stars all fall down, they empty from the sky," His voice cracked a bit, and a smile crept unto my lips. Our hands were intertwined as we inched closer and closer. "But I don't mind, if you're with me, then everything's alright." I whispered, our noses touching. I was about to utter the last verse when a portal opened up and I knew it was my time to go. I broke off immediately, flustered. Marco turned a shade of red, averting his eyes back to the sky.
"Princess Butterfly. It's time to go,"

"..."

"...Okay."

"Bye Marco."

With that, I jumped into the portal, the tears freely flowing.

oooOooo

A few days after I was crowned Queen, days were less fun. Days were filled with paperwork and boredom. And I hated that. I just wish that I could go back to Earth. I rested my head on my hand on the throne, my eyes shutting from exhaustion.
"MY QUEEN!" A guard shouted, which caught me off-guard. I snapped my head back and forth, until I looked forward and saw a familiar boy with a red hoodie. "We found this trespasser using dimensional scissors, so your royal advisor said to kill him. Are we supposed to kill him?" The guard questioned. Mental note to self: Get rid of Mom's royal advisor and hire a new one. I shook my head vigorously. "NO! Uh.. No. Guards, leave me and this prisoner. Go back to your stations.. Please," I blushed at my sudden outburst. They nodded, and left without another word. I saw a grinning Marco, holding my dimensional scissors. I left them at home! I jumped out of my throne and hugged him tight. He hesitated for a moment, before hugging me back with just the same tightness.
"I don't mind, if you're with me, then.."
