A/N: time for a depressing one shot! In here the cast is eighteen.
Star's P.O.V.
I put on a fake smile as Me, Jackie and Marco chatted. Well, Jackie and Marco chatted. Ever since I succeeded into getting Marco together with Jackie, Marco's been starting to drift away from me. Jackie's been showing her true self to me when Marco would not be around. She'd be cold and rude, she'd shout out mean things to me.
"I'm going to hit the hay now, Marco. Y'know, leave you, and soon-to-be Mrs. Diaz, to get some alone time, so.. Uh, goodnight guys!" I staggered over my words before running as fast as I could upstairs to my room. I froze right before I could even turn the doorknob. Marco and Jackie started talking about me, and they weren't talking about good things.
"Seriously, just saying, but when are you getting rid of Star? I'm quite afraid that she's gonna mess with our relationship, Marco." Jackie asked irritatedly. Marco rubbed his neck, sighing.
"Well, don't tell her I said this, but I guess she's getting quite annoying now," Marco admittedly mumbled, shoving his hands into his pockets. I widened my eyes in hurt, clutching the doorknob to my room. "Exactly! Don't worry about Star hearing you, she's practically deaf and braindead! Think about it, since when has Star ever listened to you, hm?" Jackie placed her hands on her hips, looking at Marco expectantly. I bit the inside of my cheek. I follow Marco at times too, right? "I s'ppose you're right. She's never listened to me, at least once. And she's so loud, it irritates my ears," The brunette boy raised his voice, frowning. My eyes started to sting, and I wanted to go to my room, but I couldn't. This wasn't the first time I caught them talking behind my back. Jackie let out a giggle. "Yeah! And the way she's so obnoxious, and she feels like she's the life of the party!" She mocked, making Marco chuckle. "True, true, not to mention her bad grades! She thought an, 'F,' was for Fantastic!" He exclaimed, laughing out loud. "Hey I'm Star, and I'm so obnoxious all I do is use my wand! I'm a total loser without my wand, and I have bad grades, a bad attitude, I'm not cool at all and I'm ugly!" Jackie imitated, imagining there was a wand in her hand as she swung it around. One tear. Two tears. Three tears. I was crying. I had enough. I went to my room, as I used my wand to blast myself to the roof. That's it. I am done.
Marco's P.O.V.
"Hey. She's not a loser without her wand, she can manage perfectly fine! She may have bad grades, but she's trying her best to raise them up! She's been studying all night with me. She may be obnoxious and annoying at times, but that doesn't make her a bad friend! And for your information, she is the coolest girl I've ever met! Lastly, she is not ugly." I spoke bravely, looking at Jackie straight in the eye. She looked dumbfounded for a moment, before glaring at me. "Whose side are you on?! News flash, I'M your girlfriend. Not Star." Jackie hissed. I heard a clash. I widened my eyes and looked out the window, as my eyes almost jumped out of their sockets. Star was on top of the edge of the roof, about to fall. I ran as fast as I could to Star's room, leaving Jackie behind. I saw a ladder made of water, which was sturdy as I climbed on top.
"STAR!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. She turned back to meet my gaze, her big blue eyes glassy as Crystal tears streamed down her face. "Star, Star, Star, please, don't do this!" I pleaded, trying to run towards her, at the same time trying not to fall. "I didn't mean what I said. I just.. I just wanted Jackie to be impressed with me.." I murmured, a tear already staining my face. Star looked away. I gasped. She fell down! I ran top speed at her, not caring for my own safety as I grabbed her hand. She looked at me with wide eyes. Both of us were full on sobbing by now, as I held on to her for dear life. "Please, Star.." I whispered, the tears flowing. For the first time, I saw her smile a real smile which I haven't seen in a long time. I felt Star's grip on my hand lessening. "No, no, no, no! Star, I won't let you go! I.. Can't let you go.." I desperately clung on, as I squeezed my eyes shut, begging that this was all a dream.
"It's alright, Marco.. Besides, I've overstayed my welcome here on this dimension. I think it's time to move to a new dimension." I widened my eyes. I knew what dimension she was talking about. Death.
"Just say you love her.. And I'll be gone. It's okay." She mumbled sadly. I shook my head vigorously.
"I don't.. I don't love her.." I said, a exasperated look on my face.
"Just let me go."
"No. I won't.. I won't let you go. Not now.. Not ever,"
Star smiled sympathetically at me.
"I know you won't, Safe Kid."
Then, I no longer felt her hand. I instead felt her wand, as I saw her fall, a smile on her face. I saw a note attached to the tip of the wand.
"Love you, Safe Kid. Don't forget me, or else. Earth was and is the greatest dimension I've ever been in. Thanks for all the adventures. See you in the next one.
-Star"
I chuckled softly, despite the waterfalls flowing down my face. The moment she hit the ground, I saw her fade to dust. What was left of her was her devil horned headband.
"See you in the next adventure.."
