Targeted Audience: Both genders

Episodes: 240+

Genre: Comedy, action

Rating: PG-13

Reasoning: some language, some violence, some crude humor

My star rating: 3.5 stars

Ten years before the show begins, during the Edo era of Japan, aliens invaded Edo (modern day Tokyo). Samurai tried to fight off the intruders, but ultimately failed, leading to the aliens now being the core of this society. Gintama was once one of the samurais who fought against the aliens, but now he is the main member of Gintama Odd Jobs, a company that will do any strange thing their clients desire. Along with an up and coming samurai, a super strong alien girl, and a giant dog, Gintama begins his crazy and humorous journey.

My thoughts: This show is ridiculously funny. The characters are so fantastic! You've got the Odd Jobs employees, the shinsengumi (sort of like police), and the dorky rebels who are trying to get rid of the aliens. I can guarantee that this show will make you laugh. If you are wondering why I gave it a relatively low rating, it's because this show is really funny but not very exciting, so over two-hundred episodes got me a little bored. If you prefer humor shows, this is the one to go with.
