Ushio is a typical school boy, except for the fact that he lives in a shrine. While his father is away, Ushio opens a mysterious door in their storeroom. By opening the door, the aura of the beast locked in that room escapes and attracts all kinds of bad spirits. The beast in the room is sealed by a large spear, but when bad spirits swarm the shrine, Ushio's only hope may be to free the beast, called Tora, and enlist its help in protecting what Ushio holds dear.
My thoughts: This is definitely a shonen show. It is most definitely targeted towards young boys, and I think it's one of the better shonen series I've watched. The characters are fun, especially the messed up relationship between Ushio and Tora. I think this show is really fun and exciting and I would suggest it to shonen lovers.
