"Jay? Honey? Are you awake?"

"Jay?"

Shoot-a-pickle. They figured it out.

I groan and roll over, to act like I am waking up.

Please let this work.

I stretch my arms and slowly open my eyes.

"M-mom?" I said 'sleepily,' looking into her light blue eyes.

"Oh, Ed! Jays awake!" She exclaimed as she gave me a big bear hug.

I sat up and hugged her back.

This feels nice, I never gotten a hug from Ma, like this for a long time.

Plus, it is cozy to hug someone in pajamas.

I feel guilty for not 'waking up' sooner.

My dad walked over and we did a group hug.

I squeezed both of them and looked at Cole, who was giving me a glare.

I smiled my best innocent smile I could to him.

He still frowned.

What?

After a long embrace we let go.

"Jay, son we missed you back at the junkyard," my dad said as he pulled away from the hug.

"Me too, Pa," I answered as I sat back on the bed.

I looked at Ma and Pa. And smiled.

They smiled back.

"I love you." I said as I gave them another hug.

Man, it feels nice to be hugged in pajamas.

"Aww!"

I turned to look at Lloyd, who had a big smirk on his face.

"What? You don't do this to your parents?" I asked Lloyd as I stopped hugging, and turn to face him.

Lloyd frowned.

"I can't because my dad is teaching at his academy and mom is researching with her friends. So, no I can't," He says placing his hands on his hips.

Heh heh.

I just proved my point.

Then the kid smirked.

Gulp.

"At least I don't fake sleep when my parents are here!" He shouted and pointed his finger accusingly at me.

How did he figure that out?

I heard a few gasps and chokes of sobs coming behind me.

Oh, no.

This is bad.

I am in trouble, BIG time.

I glared at Lloyd and slowly turn around to find my shocked parents.

"M-mom, d-dad?" I asked nervously. "I-."

Pa held Ma close as she broke into tears. And with his other hand he stopped me for continuing, "It's okay son we will just go now, and leave you, your 'friends' and your pranks here."
