Chapter 25: He Who Took Hughes' Place

I. Was. Going. To. Kill. Ling. He wouldn't shut up! He wouldn't stop flirting! I was gonna rip off his head or carve out my eyeballs and cut off my ears.

When we got to central, Ling disappeared along with Lan Fan and Fu running to find him. Personally, I was relieved he was gone. No more flirty princes for me!

Oh! And we found out who took Hughes place in death. Some random military officer going my the name of Joseph Gray. No idea who he was. He had no family. Just a dog that Hawkeye took in. Black Hayate is what she named it. Apperently the guy only got the dog a week ago.

Now I know where Black Hayate came from in the brotherhood. Huh.

"Hey Anna?" Ed asked. We were walking quietly down the street. I looked over at him.

"What's up?" I asked confused. AL started to poke his metal index fingers together. "What is it?" I asked deadpanning.

"We really want to know how you got those scars. It's been bugging us." Al admitted. I sighed and looked down.

"You really want to know?" I asked.

"Yeah. We do." Ed said placing a hand on my shoulder.

"My parents." I said plainly. Al gasped and Ed placed a hand over rhis mouth as though he was gonna throw up.

"How could they do that to you?" Al sounded like he was crying on the inside.

"They hated me. They used a dull knife so it would be more painful for me. Thus why I wanted to get away."

"They could have killed you and you're talking about it like it was nothing!" Ed cried gripping my shoulder a little harder. That made me flinch. Ed noticed and took his hand of my shoulder. "I'm sorry." He told me sadly looking down.

"It's alright. I need to learn that I'm not there anymore. I'm not with them."

The rest of the day was uneventful. We talked some more about my past life. We stayed at the Hughes' house again by the persistent Maes Hughes. Fine with me. Elicia was adorable.

And we decided to go for a walk around Central. We haven't done that in awhile. Just strolling around. Calm. Peaceful. That is, until Envy decided to drop in. And I mean it literally. He dropped in font of us from a roof or something.

"Well Dark, I can't believe you managed to resist for this long." Envy said with a smirk.

"Get the hell outta here!" I yelled at Ed and Al. They stood there ground and I turned to look at them. "Don't be idiots! Go!" I yelled again. Ed glared at me.

"We're not gonna leave you here with the cross dressing palm tree!" He yelled back.

"Well that was hurtful." Envy said sarcastically with a smirk. He placed his hands on his hips. I clapped my hands and created a sword from the iron in the ground.

"Anna, why is he here!?" Al asked. He thinks he's gonna take me again.

"I don't know."I answered him. Envy laughed.

"I'm here to bring Dark home Elric brats." Envy told them. Ed gasped.

"Home? She doesn't have a home! She travels with us!" He yelled. I stabbed the sword I had made in the ground and called my hands again. I touched the wall, smashing Envy with a new one again the opposite side of the alleyway.

"Run!" I told them. As I grabbed my sword. Ed and Al ran with me close behind.

"What the hell is going on!?" Ed yelled as I caught up to the brothers.

"Okay, so the night you attacked me and I ran off, that guy kidnapped me!"

"We know that! We tried to stop him!" Ed told me. I looked back. Nothing. Shiiiiiiiit!!!

"You did!?" He nodded. "Anyways, he told me I'm what he is! A freaking Homoculous! Their Father put a philosophers stone into me! That's what came out of my stomach when you found me in the alleyway!" I explained quickly. Envy jumped in front of us.

We came to an abrupt stop.

"You destroyed the stone we gave you? That explains why you haven't killed the pipsqueak yet." Ed charged at Envy and Envy kicked him back. Al grabbed me and pushed me into his armour.

"Al! What the hell are you doing!?" I yelled pounding on his chest plate from the inside. Then he started running. "Al!" I yelled again.

"I'm sorry Anna! Brother told me too!"

"Alphonse Elric, you let me out right now!" I yelled pushing on his chest place with my feet. My back was pressed against his cold metal back.

"I'm sorry Anna, I can't!" He said. I hit my head against the back of his armour and looked up. His head. I moved up and pushed up his head and off it flew. I pulled myself out of him even though he tried to protest.

I jumped off him and ran back. What I saw killed me. Ed was leaning against a wall; his side bleeding. Oh shit. Laboratory five over again.

"Edward!" I yelled. Envy looked over and smirked.

"Why are you so worried about the Fullmetal brat Dark? He tried to kill you." He smirked.

"Anna! Get the hell out of here! He wants you-" he was cut of by Envy kicking him in the stomach.

"Leave him alone! It's me you want!" I cried. Envy smirked bigger.

"That's what I wanted to hear." He said. He left Ed and walked up to me. I stood tall. He didn't scare me a bit. He grabbed my shoulder and held out a new stone. My eyes widened. He- he had another one!?

"Eat it and I'll let him live." He said shoving it into my hand.

"Don't do it Anna!" Ed yelled. Envy watched me closely as I starred at the stone.

"Anna!" Al yelled from down the street. What the hell was he pulling?

"I'm sorry Ed. I'm sorry Al." I whispered as I placed the stone in my mouth. It turned to a liquid and ran down my throat. It burned. Like a fire that started inside me.

"Anna!" The brothers yelled as I fell to my knees. My vision started getting hazy. I faintly saw Envy kick Al away and him picking me up. He threw me over his shoulder.

"No!" Ed yelled pushing himself up. I felt the darkness try to consume me again. I fought it, making the fire burn my insides more. And I screamed in pain. I heard Envy laughing evilly, Ed falling back to the ground and his eyes closing.

"Ed... Edward... no!" I yelled. The pain worsened and I passed out.
