Chapter 36

I slip on a nice dress. I put on my makeup and curl my hair. I check on Maggie and she's still asleep. I walk down the stairs and I'm watching the tv when the door bell rings. I turn tv off before walking to the door. I look through the peep hole. There's a man in a suit. I open the door without unlocking the chain.
"Hello," he smiles.
"Hello," I say.
"Your husband hired me to check the pipe in the kitchen," he says.
"Our pipe is just fine,my husband didn't hire you," I start to close the door,but he sticks his hand to stop it.
"He did hire me," there's a different lol on his face now.
"You must have the wrong house," I try and close it.
"I don't think I do!" He slams the door open. I scream and run to the stairs. I have to get to Maggie. He grabs my legs and I throw my heel at his face. He stumbles back and I crawl up the stairs. I run into Maggie's room. I lock her door and run to my room and get Owens gun. I slowly walk downstairs holding the gun in front of me. I step quietly when I feel a sharp pain in my stomach. I look down to see a knife in me. I turn around gasping. He snatches my gun and pulls out the knife. I fall to the ground. My vision begins to blur.

My eyes shoot open. I gasp for air. There's a pool of blood around me. I get up slowly. I get some tissue and stuff it by my wound. I stumble up the stairs. Maggie's door is open. I feel sick when I can't see in the cot. I hear humming downstairs. I walk back down the stairs I pick the knife up from the floor. He's in the study. I can't even control myself now. All I know is he tried to kill me and now has my baby. I walk behind him in a trance. He's holding Maggie. I stop behind him. I take a deep breath before I stab his head. Blood splatters all over my face. I stumble back shaking at what I have done. I pick Maggie up and run into a cabinet and hide.
