Chapter two

CHAPTER TWO

Lily's POV

I gasped.

"I..." I was rendered speechless by the look on Angelica's face.

"Were you eavesdropping on us?!!" She said, her previously widened eyes narrowing.

Jacob got to the door and looked over Angie's shoulder.

My eyes filled with tears again, and I turned around and marched away, the tears in my eyes spilling over.

"Wait!" Jacob shouted "Lily!! I want to talk to you!"

I ignored him and continued to walk away. He ran after me and grabbed me by the wrist.

Angie respectfully went back into the supply room and closed the door behind her.

"Let go of me!!" I writhed in his arms, trying to break his strong grip, but to no avail.

New tears brimmed over and fell onto his arm.

I didn't know why I was so upset anyway. Him and I weren't officially dating anyway, he had just asked me to the dance. What were the chances he even saw anything in me?

But it still hurt...

"Don't cry," he said, his voice soft. Something in his eyes made me want to forgive him, even though I didn't have to forgive for anything.

"I have every right to cry!!!" I bellowed into his face.

Surprised he let go of me and stepped back. I saw the hurt in his face, and I felt shamelessly satisfied.

Jacob swallowed.

After a minute he took the amulet he seemed to always wear (his "sister" had one too) and said "I'm sorry about this, but you know too much. It will inevitably be the end of my clan if I do not do this,"

He pressed the stone that was on the amulet and pointed it at me.

Nothing happened.
